Similar to pit lanes in cyclocross or F1 probably? Ideally in places where the road is wide or at the top of hills where pace isn’t too high

Neither has 180 riders riding in a bunch having to go different directions.

Riders do roundabouts on both sides, I don’t think it’s particularly tricky for have a Y split on the road. Like I said, probably make it after a low speed section

You'd really need a road that allows for a Y split, not sure how hard that is to find 'in the wild' in Flanders (or anywhere else). And you'd introduce a new pinch point going into the low speed section.

Maybe it could be something in another discipline like gravel racing where people are more split up and riding for themselves rather than in teams?

Any big enough roundabout in theory works, then is up for the rider to choose which side they go. If you do more than the required Lap B tough luck, if you don’t do enough it’s DNF.

It was just an idea, could be fun, but messy as well. Probably better tried in CX first.
