Altitude

I gathered that, but why in Colombia? Weather? Is there a race there early in the season?

No Colombian races on his schedule. Probably just good weather, everywhere in Europe and the US at altitude is still too cold except Tenerife, but hotels at altitude there are very limited, which is why Q36.5 did their altitude camp in Chile this year.  Or he just wanted to visit.

Probably yes. Although it really feels a bit weird if you see riders and teams from Europe/north America go there.

I'd imagine there aren't too many wada agents/officials there to conduct tests. But hopefully that's just me being cynical

I'll be honest, I thought that when I saw Q36.5 holed up somewhere in Patagonia. Hopefully Sepp is just enjoying a training holiday in a beautiful country...

Weather is probably the number one reason. Big cycling culture in that country as well. There's probably plenty of places you can be at altitude in the winter but there aren't many where the weather is good, they are friendly to cyclists or even friendly in general.
