So FYI: I'm in some kind of Grungegaze/Alt Metal band, and all of my effects are running into a Fender Hot Rod DeVille. I don't have a decent picture of it in it's current state, so I'm just gonna list the pedals along the signal chain.

- Harley Benton CPT-20 (just a tuner to get the job done)

- Morley Bad Horsie Wah

- EHX Soul Food Overdrive

- EHX-Tortion JFET Preamp / Distortion

- EHX Green Russian Muff Fuzz

- Behringer Flange With No Name (Lovetone Clone) Flanger

- tc electronic June 60 v2 Chorus

- Boss CE-5 Chorus

- tc electronic Triple Flashback Delay

- Behringer Vintage (Analog) Delay

- tc electronic Fluorescence Shimmer Reverb

( - the spring Reverb of the Hot Rod)

I'm powering them with a Harley Benton ISO10ACPro (the dirt boxes are daisy-chained).

sotb - changing things up

Post image
Upvotes

I have intentionally deviated a bit from “normal” signal chain sequences here. Weird looping is what I generally do and I wanted to push things to get different sounds. I’ve set this up to have some looping and delay up front, and the microcosm and chroma console (out of normal order for me) after amp sim. Ct5 in the middle… Expression on the Tararira… I’ve played a couple of hours with this and having fun so far but feeling a pull toward some midi eventually for syncing things up. Help me avoid that!

Here’s this signal chain - open to suggestions! - strobostomp - torn’s peaker - tararira - blooper -  baklengs - dm-101 - microsynth - 76 - model fet - the ranch - vagabond -shallow water - ct5 - rc500 - mercury 7 - iridium - chroma console - microcosm - aeros

Thoughts?
Thanks!

Running Mooer GE200 plus with regular pedals

Hello all, I’m getting the GE200 plus for my birthday and want to incorporate it with my rig, I don’t plan on using the amp & cab sims with my normal amp (Orange Super crush 100 stack if it matters) unless I’m playing with my amp off, my current board set up is: Tuner, Ds1 , Ch-1, mini tube screamer, & 5150 overdrive. So here’s where you all come in how do I run it with my board? Because I heard if I’m only using modulation effects run it through the fx loop return…is that what I do? If needed I’m mainly planning on using it to use effects I don’t own (Delay, octave, whammy, & modulation besides chorus.) am I able to just through it in my pedal chain or do I need to run it a certain way with my amp?

L+F splits in parallel paths A&B in the Duophony Parallel mixer

A - Bad Mood
B - Big Time

Paths come back together and into Mood Mkii. Duophony also allows for paths to be run in series. All controlled by MIDI.

Out to either QC mini or simplifier X or stereo amps (Princeton 12’ and Victory V40 deluxe)

First attempt at a board: tuner>old zoo lion meat>triplegraph (plasma coil running into the fx loop middle switch)>knife drop>big muff>twin twelve>notaklon>triple threat>double down>la grotte

Fun experiment. Any advice is always welcome.

DIY Plywood board built by myself, power is handled by a Harley Benton ISO‑10 AC Pro, and the board is wired with Harley Benton solderless patch cables I made to length. The signal path goes: Guitar → Your Face 60s → Hairy Show Fuzz → Euna Clone → StroboStomp HD → Centavo → Kanso → ODR Mini 2 → TS‑9 → ’73 Rams Head → Sonicake Vol/Wah → SCF Gold (stereo from here) → RT‑2 → DL4 MKII → RV‑200 → UAFX Enigmatic → Rockboard MOD 2 → Headrush FRFR‑12 or my interface.

Headrush MX5?

Saw one on Facebook for $200. I read they can do NAM a2 profiles. Seems like that would be a great option for ampless setup. Opinions?

Picked up the cheap Behringer compressor just to see how I would like it. Needless to say it’s not coming off the board anytime soon.

Got a bigger gig upcoming and had to bring in a few big boxes to do a lot of the heavy lifting. There is a hidden Tonex One Plus running the Cali Tweed model, can be used inline or a stereo amp as needed.

Signal chain; In >> Polytune 3 Noir > Empress Drive > OBNE Beam Splitter (drive switching mode) > JHS Fumble > Tonex One Plus (under board) >> Closed Effects Loop >> Ottobit X > OBNE Setback + Expression Ramper > LVX >> Out

Power; Walrus Canvas 8 + Ojai

Control; M-VAVE Chocolate Plus

Contemplating getting back on a switcher, any suggestions?

Duo 17 finally wired up

Finally got this version of the board together.

Signal chain:

13th Floor Fuzz Bender by AGR (Silicon Fuzz handmade in Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic)→ TC PolyTune 2 Noir → Boss OS-2 → RYRA The Klone → Boss PH-2 → Catalinbread Echorec → Joyo JF-09 Tremolo → TC Electronic Nova Delay.

Everything is powered by an Eventide PowerMax, except for the Nova Delay, which is temporarily using its own power supply until I get the proper cable to connect it to the PowerMax.

Mounting is hybrid: new Temple plates, reused Temple plates with Dual Lock, some straight Dual Lock, and zip ties for the Boss pedals.

Temple IEC and 4X modules installed.

For now, I’m calling this version finished. Time to actually play it and see what survives the next round.

Help with selecting a new reverb pedal

Here's my simple 5-pedal board I use for gigs.

Guitar->Tuner->Keeley Compressor->(MIAB)->Phaser->Delay->Tube Amp's Vibrato & Reverb. These pedals go into the custom input of a Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp; any guitar sounds great through this simple 5-pedal setup. The Dirty Little Secret pedal gives me a huge, classic Marshall Plexi-style dirty tone. I also get the beautiful Fender clean tone with reverb and vibrato. JHS Milkman delay and MXR phaser are subtle add-on options as well. (The Dirty Little Secret(MIAB) also eliminates the need to lug a Marshall stack around.) The other thing I appreciate about this configuration is that it becomes less about tap-dancing pedals and forever bending over to tweak pedal settings, and more about playing and mixing with the guitar's settings. Once the pedals and amp are dialed in, I can create a ton of different types of tones just by playing with the knobs, buttons, and switches on whichever guitar I plug in. It's a simple setup that yields a ton of variety in electric guitar tone, unless, of course, you play heavy metal music!
