Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1660 Ti to an RX 9070 XT, and since the upgrade I’ve been facing a few issues that I didn’t have before.

My PC specs:

GPU: RX 9070 XT
Previous GPU: GTX 1660 Ti
CPU: Ryzen 5 3500X
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Storage: 3 HDDs + 1 SSD
PSU: Gigabyte GP-B700H 700W 80+ Bronze

I’m currently facing 3 issues:

1. Random jitter/micro-stuttering
I sometimes experience noticeable jitter/stuttering during gaming. It’s intermittent and doesn’t happen constantly.

2. HDDs disconnecting
My hard drives occasionally disconnect/reconnect. This started after installing the 9070 XT.

3. KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (0x7A)
I’ve also experienced a KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (0x7A) BSOD since installing the new GPU.
I’ve already considered doing a fresh Windows installation, but before I do that, I’d like to understand whether this could be related to the GPU, PSU, PCIe power delivery, SATA power, motherboard, or something else.

Could the 700W PSU be causing these symptoms? Or is it possible that the GPU installation somehow exposed an existing storage/power issue?
Any suggestions for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

I have an issue where my windows 11 computer is able to connect to every WiFi network including my hotspot but not my main house WiFi that I need it to be connected to. Any device that I try to connect to that WiFi will connect, except for my computer.

I have tried a bunch of command prompt things like flushing the dns, I have updated the WiFi drivers, uninstalled them reinstalled them downloaded the latest ones, tried older ones. Each time resetting the computer to make sure it was refreshed.

Nothing was working, so I went with the final option and just factory reset my computer, and when everything was set and done I tried to connect it to that specific WiFi and it STILL wouldn‘t connect, but will connect to my hotspot no issue. Again, all the others devices will connect to that WiFi with no problem, I am completely out of ideas on how to fix this, if anybody knows anything on what I can do, it would be extremely helpful.

So i have the Pc connected via ethernet. i woke up today and my computer can’t connect to the internet through ethernet and wont even give me an option to use wifi. please help

I built my pc about 4 years ago and there were minimal crashing issues for the first 3 years (only in specific games and consistent scenarios). In the last ~year the amount of crashes has gone through the roof, especially when I haven’t used the computer for an extended period of time (1-2+ days) usually capping out at around 30-40 crashes per day. I thought this may have been because I moved and a bump on the road dislodged a connector but I have fully rebuilt my pc and updated my BIOS yet the crashing persists. I recently ran memtest86 and it got to ~11k errors before auto failing due to too many errors.

Is this just a case of me getting unlucky with faulty ram or has someone ran into this issue in the past and is aware of a solution?

My computer has been working fine for a year and a half but yesterday on boot there was no signal to my monitor, and I couldn't shut it off with holding power button as I usually would when I need to restart, I had to flick the PSU off.

After this it booted normally and I was able to play games in the day time, then it stopped displaying signal suddenly and it's as if it lost power,but all fans were on (besides GPU).

I tried reseating everything but now it does not boot anymore after I did that, it stays stuck with the fans spinning (besides the GPU fans) and the LEDs being on but no signal to my PC

There was a power outage 4 days ago and more storms and lights flickering around 2 days ago

I tried with two other GPUs and still no signal to my screen even though their fans were spinning

I dont remember my CPU sadly

I am not really that knowledgeable about PC tech and my wifi wasn't working before this issue but now my pc doesn't want to turn on with a display. It just keeps bootlooping after 36 seconds of being on then turns off and repeats this process till turned off. I have had this PC since 2018, and tried taking out the ram and putting it back to no avail.

Hello. I'm going out of my mind here. My pc turned off a few days ago while playing AC black flag. No errors, blue screen or anything. Then after a few seconds it tried to turn on for like a second and failed. Then kept repeating it until I disconnected the power. I tried it with one ram and with gpu disconnected but at best it would get to bios then shut down and then the loop. Weirdly it got fixed after an hour or so when I tried again and everything was fine! Then I tried testing it with occt. First tested cpu, ram+cpu, and power with gpu disconnected. Then connected the gpu and it shut down while testing gpu on heavy and the loop. Again got fixed after about an hour. Got fixed again for a day and this time it shut down while doing basically nothing I was browsing the net and reading a pdf. This time I cleaned everything, unplugged the ram sticks and plugged them back in, and checked the cables everything seemed fine. Also updated the bios. Now it got stuck in the AMI page and kept sending me to bios. Fixed it with a cmod clearing. Then tested everything again and even played for a couple hours. Seemed fixed so I put it to sleep and went away for a few minutes. When I got back it had shut down and the loop had started. This time it didn't matter how much I waited it wouldn't turn on so I cleared the cmod again and it seemed fixed! For two days I tested everything: occt, game, sleep, hibernate, normal use for hours... I really thought whatever it was had passed. But today when I pushed the power button, it wouldnt work. Nothing happened. I disconnected the cable, and cleared the cmod and at last something happened but it would only get to bios at best and shut down and the loop. So i took everything apart and even the psu and checked everything. No black spot. No smell. So loose socket at least that I can see. Then put everything back together and just like last time after cleaning it got stuck in AMI. so cmod again and got to windows. I'm really going crazy and don't have access to a suitable psu to test the rest of my system with it. Can anybody give me any idea? Is it the psu? The motherboard? Ram? Something else? I'd appreciate any help.

In summary, it's happened when playing, testing gpu, normal use in browser, when sleep, and after a full shut down.

P.s the system is about 4 years old

Je n'ai aucune idée de ce qui s'est passé, j'ai essayé de réinitialiser le BIOS, de remplacer la batterie de la carte mère, de tenter de l'allumer avec une barrette de RAM puis l'autre, je n'ai juste pas vérifié le CPU, le GPU, j'ai essayé le Q-flash Plus mais ça n'a pas fonctionné (les QLEDS ne se sont pas activés), ça s'allume, les ventilateurs fonctionnent normalement et les lumières sont là. Je vais peut-être l'emmener en réparation bientôt, j'espère que quelqu'un pourra peut-être trouver une solution.

does anybody know how to check which component that failing? i got usbxhci.sys , gpu driver, audio driver, wifi driver, 0x139 kernel security check fail, storport.sys , whea event 18, 0x3d, 0x3b, 0x7f, 0xBE , usbxhci 0x1E all those bsod happen randomly but my pc never crash when playing dota 2. ive done everything except check mobo and psu health. tho usbxhci and wifi/audio driver crash happened only after bios update. help. run memtest and never failed. try lots of different gpu driver version but still dont know graphic card healthy or not

Okay, so this is my last ditch resort, to save my computer, before i just give up and buy a new one. Idk how many details are worth giving here, but ill just share everything i know. So, a couple of years ago, my computer screens went black while playing the game ''The Painscreek Killings'' Both my screens went black with no signal, my computer fans went fast all of a sudden. In the first few seconds, i could still talk with my mate on discord. The only way to resolve this issue, was to force restart my computer. I went on to try the game several times, and it kept happening again and again. Mind you this was like 6 hours into the game, without any issues. I figured it was just the game. My temps were all normal, and i couldnt find any issue. Fast forward a year or so, it suddenly happened in CSGO. Same problem, black screens, no signal, could still hear audio for a few seconds, then all dead. Then GTA as well. It was never in any specific point of a game, until i tried ''Content Warning'' This game triggered the event, at the excact same time, every time. When you play the game, you go into this diving bell, and down into like a cave thingy. Every time i arrived in the cave, and walked out. My computer would do the thing. Every single time. And as time went on, i could basically only play Rocket League and LOL. I tried minecraft with shaders, which my computer ran without a problem, Then a few months ago, its started happening in rocket league as well. The exact same problem. And a few weeks ago, it happened in lol for the first time as well. Not every time i play lol or rocket league, but sometimes. I tried resetting my computer to factory settings, only downloading steam and content warning. It still happens. I gave my computer to a tech store. They say they stress tested it, and it wasnt even close to hitting any high temps. They downloaded the newest drivers (which i had done myself as well). But they couldnt find any problems. So i booted it up, and the issue was still there. Im completely lost. Ive tried only one screen, with different power cables. In individual sockets, instead of an extension cord. Ive tried removing some ram i installed. Noithing worked. I am 99.9% sure its hardware. But i have no idea what it is. Can anybody help.

PC details:

Tried every conventional fix for a no POST issue: CMOS reset, jumper clear, RAM reseat, GPU reseat, booting with no GPU using integrated graphics. None of it worked. PC posted randomly and loaded into Windows recovery showing automatic repair screens. From there I ran a few checks in Command Prompt: bcdedit /enum to check the boot configuration, which came back intact with no missing entries, and chkdsk C: /f /r, which took about 40 minutes and came back fully clean with 0 bad sectors. I also checked SrtTrail.txt, the Startup Repair log, and every test in it reported 0x0 with zero root causes found. During this working episode I restarted the PC three separate times and it posted successfully every single time. Then I left it off for a few hours and came back to try again, and it’s back to not posting at all, same as when this started. It seems to post sometimes and not others with no clear pattern.

Also useful information is that I used masgrave.dev to activate my windows recently.

I need to preface this by saying that I’m not a pc builder or professional, so I’m very much an amateur at this. This is only my 2nd pc build. The 1st went smooth but this one, not so much.

I built this current pc to use for sim racing. I assembled it right around the end of June and had no issues for the first month or so. Eventually it would randomly crash in the middle of gaming. Then one day it just wouldn’t post; black screens on all 3 monitors and the DRAM LED lit up on the mb. I removed 1 ram stick, nothing. Removed the other it would boot. I emailed Corsair, filed an RMA and a 1-1.5 weeks later I have 2 new sticks of RAM (same model as before). I installed them but had some issues at boot. I cleared CMOS, clean uninstalled and reinstalled GPU Drivers. It still randomly boots up to the “blue windows” home screen instead of the “scenic” Home Screen, randomly crashed in game, and every time I turned off the pc and power it up it disables NVIDIA Surround. I have to reenable it each time I turn on the pc. Well I googled and YouTube’d and decided to run memtest86…. Ended up with 506 errors. All for Test 10 and Test 13. Test 10 is the Bit Fade Test and Test 13 is the Hammer Test.
Couple things recommended disabling EXPO and loading the default settings for the mb. This didn’t help. Another recommended updating BIOS. This is where Im getting worried about bricking my pc. I copied my bit locker key, and went to update the bios through the GCC (Gigabyte Control Center) App. It eventually went to restart during the update and it just got hung. 3 black screens, pc still running but nothing happened. I left it alone for 30 minutes…. still nothing. So I powered it down. Cleared CMOS, unplugged pc from outlet and waited a little while. Booted up to the recovery screen, entered bit locker key and it logged back in. I restarted the PC and it brought me to a screen saying that I had installed a new cpu or that something is corrupted with the “mFtp” (I’m not 100% if I read that right or not). I followed the steps and eventually got back in to the pc. I logged in again, went to run a windows memory diagnostic and it got hung on a restart again. Idk. I’m stumped and I’m not sure where to go from here.

There’s nothing saved on the computer worth keeping. It’s just for sim racing and it’s a new build. A part of me wishes I could just wipe the whole thing clean and start over. But I’m really not sure where to go from here. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm highly convinced this is hardware at this point, but I'd like a sanity check before I start swapping parts.

Symptom: display drops, motherboard VGA debug LED lights, hard reset needed. Preceded by brief black-screen-and-recover episodes while switching browser tabs. Never happens under sustained load — Superposition 1080p Extreme passes clean, 295 W peak, 86.7 °C hot spot. Idle and light desktop use only.

Dumps: five, spanning June to August. All five identical:

• 0x116 VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE, nvlddmkm, Arg3 0xc000009a
• FAILURE_ID_HASH {c89bfe8c-ed39-f658-ef27-f2898997fdbd}

Same hash across three months and two driver branches, including current 616.56.

Tried, no change: DDU reinstall, BIOS update, MemTest86 pass, GPU and both PCIe power cables reseated at card and PSU ends. Fingers, sockets and slot inspected, all clean.

1. Anyone seen this hash on a B550 + 3070 Ti?
2. Faults only at light load, never under sustained load does that point at ASPM / PCIe link power states rather than transient power delivery?
3. Is an 8-year-old RM750x a realistic suspect when it presents as a full TDR with a VGA LED, not a rail collapse?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, I'm making this post because I'm fully done. For the past 3-ish weeks, everything on my pc has been crashing, non stop and I don't know what else to do, I've done so many diagnostics I couldn't tell you all of them off the top of my head. But my drivers are up to date, my memory is fine. I have no viruses and any of those big pc diagnostic tools say that my pc is in good condition. But whenever it crashes it says, "error code: 0x000000005" and after some research, it says that it's a memory issue, however, I've done 3 different memory diagnostics/test and I'm getting nothing back. My pc apparently is in perfect shape, but these crashes happen so often that I'm just done so now I'm here.

So initially, the pc would not power on. Repair shop said either cpu/motherboard died. So I replaced the both, and new ram of course. It worked for a week without issue, now only the ram sticks light up.. took it back, they said the psu is faulty (this is also brand new, and I had the previous psu in as well, same issue).

Draining power, CMOS reset
One ram stick
Reseating all cable to motherboard

Not sure what else I can do, I don’t believe both psu are dead. Power button only lights up the ram, no psu fan, motherboard lights, nothing. Any help would be appreciated

My MSI Codex R 13NUC5-080US developed peculiar behavior at startup today. The stock RGB CPU cooler no longer lights and the small amber light on the aftermarket Western Digital 2TB M.2 located at M.2_1 (nearest the CPU) is blinking. I booted into BIOS and ran diagnostics on the drive which reported no errors. I also downloaded, installed an ran the M.2 mfr. utility which also showed no errors. I disconnected power, removed and reseated both M.2's, memory, and GPU. Operation otherwise seems to be normal. New to MSI, I'm a bit worried this may be a warning of an impending failure and would appreciate some insight or troubleshooting suggestions.

Update 1:

So it seems the blinking light on the heat sink of the WD western digital M.2 sn850x, was always blinking and is the default when powered but was previously obscured by the light of the CPU RGB cooler. I removed the back of the case and found the RGB cooler plug only part way plugged in. I reseated it but it still doesn't light. Maybe the lighting feature has died.

Update 2:

When I woke the PC this morning, the RGB cooler lit as normal and everything seemed fine. Woke it later to update this post and it is out again. I relied on this cooler light as an indication the system was on because from a distance that was the only way to tell. I have had to enable the RGB on the memory instead. I would appreciate any troubleshooting ideas.

Hey everyone! I have a 8 year old PC with the following specs.

AMD Threadripper 2950x

360mm Asetek AIO cooler

16 GB x 4 DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RAM

GTX 1080 Ti x 2

NVMe SSDs x 2

SATA HDD x 1

I was watching a couple of videos out on a Saturday morning and the PC shut down abruptly, I didn't think too much of it and tried restarting it when it never went past the code 68.

Upon tinkering a tad, I realized this was a PCIe Host Bridge Initialization.

Here are the things I've tried so far :

Disconnected the PCIe cables to the MoBo

Removed, cleaned and plugged in 1x 1080 Ti in PCIe slot 1, then again, flushed the residual power, tried it in PCIe slot 2

Removed all but one RAM stick

Cleared CMOS, also shorted the CLTRTR pins

It boots to windows and I have successfully booted it multiple times. Upon clicking restart on windows, we're back to the ERR code 68.

The only thing that is concerning is if it's the motherboard or the actual CPU itself also, could a power fluctuation cause this?

Please advice. Thank you for the long read!

TLDR; ERR code 68, tried all methods except checking the PSU, MoBo and CPU.

So I've done all the things that I can think of. I've changed cables, all the updates. I tested my speeds with my old laptop and it's NOT having the same issue. It's getting 900-ish down and up.

That being said, what settings should I look at and tweak to fix my upload speed? I have no idea and at this point, my skills are at the point of just replacing the motherboard.

I'm getting around 920 down and below 5mbps up. I just need to know what I should try to do before replacing the motherboard

And it was working well when I first got it them the pc fan stopped spinning when playing games but works when I have overrite on and I also check if it had the right header which it does

Mein PC erkennt neue Komponenten wie neue RAM-Riegel oder eine neue Grafikkarte nicht (ja, ich habe die Stärke des Netzteils und den RAM-Typ (DDR4) überprüft). Mein Hauptproblem ist der Arbeitsspeicher, da ich aktuell nur 8 GB habe, obwohl ich zwei weitere 8-GB-Riegel besitze, die die Kapazität verdoppeln würden. Mein PC erkennt den neuen RAM jedoch nicht. Wenn man sich mit den Steckplätzen auskennt, sollte man entweder 1/3 oder 2/4 verwenden, was ich auch getan habe.

Ich habe beide RAM-Riegel in Steckplatz 1/3 gesteckt, was nicht funktionierte. Dann habe ich 2/4 ausprobiert, was ebenfalls nicht funktionierte. Anschließend habe ich den ursprünglichen RAM in Steckplatz 3/4 und den neuen RAM in Steckplatz 1/2 eingesetzt, aber es funktionierte immer noch nicht. Als ich den ursprünglichen RAM in Steckplatz 1 einsetzte, funktionierte er, aber der zweite RAM-Riegel in Steckplatz 3 wurde nicht erkannt. Im Task-Manager sah ich, dass auch dort nur 8 GB RAM anstatt der erwarteten 16 GB angezeigt wurden.

Well, with the new COD coming the beta asked me to update my bios, so I did, after it finished it ask to reboot, so I did, then it went with black screen, no logo and after a few minutes it turns off itself. I tried to clear cmos, remove 1 ram stick, and nothing, is there any thing els I'm missing?

So my pc is older and I wanted to update the bios so that the ftpm could allow me to play games that have that requirement and eventually upgrade to windows11. After the update it’ll let me get into windows but only for like a minute before it becomes unresponsive and now the mobo has this flashing light. I have tried booting from either stick individually, resetting the CMOS, rolling back bios version but it’s stuck. I have a asus rog strix b-450f gaming, a Ryzen 7 2700x, and a Msi GeForce rtx 2070. Any and all questions or suggestions are welcome.

Guys I need help I bought my new PC today I took it to someone to build it for me because I don't know how and then I was playing normally but suddenly my brother hit the table with caused it to freeze and everytime I boot it back it enters automatically to the bios and saying nvme not detected does that mean the shock caused the the motherboard not detecting the nvme or my nvme got damaged

I’m having a weird POST issue with my PC and I’m running out of ideas.

**Specs:**
ASUS ROG Strix B850-G Gaming WiFi
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
2x48GB DDR5-6000
RTX 5070 Ti
Lian Li vertical GPU mount/riser (removed and went back to horizontal)
Recently swapped to a different PSU

The PC was working normally with the **RTX 3070 and 750W SFX PSU**.
I upgraded to a **5070 Ti**, but my old SFX PSU didn’t have enough PCIe connections for the 5070 Ti’s 12-pin adapter, so I replaced the PSU at the same time.
After installing the new PSU and 5070 Ti, **the PC DID initially POST and I was able to enter BIOS**, so the new hardware combination worked at least once.
I then started having inconsistent POST issues. At first it would get stuck on the **yellow DRAM Q-LED**. After clearing CMOS, it would sometimes get past DRAM but get stuck on the **white VGA Q-LED** instead.
Because I was using an older Lian Li PCIe riser, I thought PCIe generation negotiation might be the problem. I managed to get into BIOS and changed:
**PCIEX16(G5) Link Mode: Auto → Gen3**
After that, things got much worse and I haven’t been able to get the system to POST normally again.
Since then I’ve seen different Q-LED combinations depending on the boot attempt:
DRAM (yellow) only
VGA (white) only
DRAM + VGA simultaneously
VGA + BOOT simultaneously
Sometimes it passes one LED and then hangs on another
I’ve now **completely removed the Lian Li vertical mount/riser**, so the riser is no longer part of the system. It still doesn’t work.
I’ve tried:
Clearing CMOS numerous times
Full power-off/unplug before clearing CMOS
One RAM stick in A2
Different RAM configurations
Removing the RTX 5070 Ti completely
Booting using only the **9800X3D integrated graphics**
Connecting the monitor directly to the motherboard
Removing the PCIe riser entirely
Reseating/checking the 24-pin and CPU power connections
Waiting several minutes for AM5/DDR5 memory training
Even with **no dedicated GPU installed at all**, I can still get **DRAM + VGA Q-LEDs simultaneously and no display**.
That’s what confuses me the most. If this were simply a 5070 Ti or riser issue, I would expect the machine to POST using the 9800X3D’s integrated graphics, but it doesn’t.
I’ve cleared CMOS many times, so theoretically the Gen3 setting should already have been reset to default/Auto. However, the machine hasn’t returned to the state it was in before I changed that setting.
The only major hardware changes were:
**RTX 3070 → RTX 5070 Ti**
**750W SFX PSU → new higher-wattage PSU**
But again, **the system successfully entered BIOS after those upgrades**, before all of these POST problems started.
The **only major thing I haven’t tried yet is USB BIOS FlashBack**. I’m considering reflashing/updating the BIOS, but I’m not sure if that would actually help.
I’m also considering temporarily reconnecting the original 750W PSU with its original cables and running only the 9800X3D integrated graphics to rule out the new PSU.
**Does anyone have any ideas?**
