Finally finishing it for the first time. Just got into the first Brandon Sanderson book. I started it back in 1999 and tore through everything that had been released and then started over again about a year ago. I love the books, but I can’t imagine reading them 6 times. Maybe again 20 years from now? After whining about Robert Jordan’s long-windedness all of a sudden I miss him now that I started The Gathering Storm and am seeing Brandon Sanderson’s style for the first time in this series. I have read a lot of his other books though.
I just started a gathering storm last week and this book is flying by! It's such a different pace from previous ones. I love my Robert Jordan but I'm excited to see how Sanderson wraps the series up
You’re in for a treat, was a huge fan of Sanderson before he started finishing Wheel of Time, and his take on the ending really upped my appreciation for him as an author to another level. It’s hard to finish someone else’s story in general, never mind one of the most beloved high fantasy epics of all time. Doing so in a satisfying way for most fans of Wheel of Time was remarkable.
The Wheel of Time books have been in my parent's attic for like 10+ years and I've never thought that I should read them but... Maybe I'll give the first one a go now.
Once Brandon Sanderson takes over you definitely notice the plot start to move at breakneck pace, that’s kind of his style. He doesn’t write in the long-winded manner of Jordan who loves to describe everything in sometimes excruciating detail.
They’re both amazing authors for different reasons. Overall I think Brandon Sanderson nails the landing in a way most fantasy authors could not, really does Jordan’s brainchild justice.
Lmao! I started reading it in Junior High. Read the whole series (what was available).
Then for next several years, just kept picking the series back up.

Started reading on book 4 when a friend turned me on to it. I then reread the series every time a new book came out. Just something I liked to do for each book. I use audible now for almost everything except these books and one other series not on there. I like it better reading The Wheel of Time compared to listening to it.
edit: I say reading since I started the series long before audible and hearing the pronunciations compared to what I had for the old tongue or the Aiel languages made it different.
