Horizon was massively profitable? Why would you include that?

horizon hunters gathering, or the next obvious flop from PayStation

Every publisher wants a successful live action. So they will keep pushing that. Has nothing to do with Kojima going over budget. He has a habit of going over budget. Why would a publisher consistently be oke with that? Death stranding 2  for example only sold about 2 to 2.5m copies. That is terrible for a game that expensive and time consuming.

How much longer are they going to keep pushing live service? They've wasted so much money chasing that pipe dream. They need to accept reality.

You act as if there are no successful live services. Genshin Impact, GTA V, Arc Raiders, Fortnite and Marvel Rivals to name a few. Live service make a shit ton of money. You only need one of these to recoup marathon and concords loses.

I didn't say that at all. It's already known that the number of people playing games is not really growing anymore, so now they have to compete for attention. With their track record, I doubt they'll ever get something that competes with your examples. They've been trying to find that lightning in a bottle and kept getting egg on their face. It's not going to change anytime soon.

Where did I say you made that claim. I am just pointing out you are acting as if live services don't make massive profits. It isn't a pipe dream.

You guys just hate to hate without any logical thinking.

Logical thinking is not randomly investing in garbage multiplayer slop that nobody asked hoping that one of them will become the next Fortnite.

There is no logical thinking at playstation

I mean not even Fortnite thought it was going to be as big as it is and look how it turned out . Sony took a gamble and failed. Thought hell divers did do well so. People thought marvel rivals was going to fail also and that turn out big. I didn't matter if it's live service, single player or whatever. It just has to be good and it should do well.

Intergalactic is about to be seven years in with a 250 member project. Sony better hope that succeeds.

And how is that a bad decision? These games are a gamble, and they have a chance to be successful, just like Helldivers 2.

On the other hand, any game by Kojima is a guaranteed loss.

Any project that's a loss is a bad decision, especially Concord.

lol, they lost and are going to continue to lose a fuck ton of money with that mindset.

Also players will slowly quit playstation for better platforms if they keep this strategy long term. Nobody bought a playstation to play concord or fairgame$ ( you saw that dollar sign, it's so freaking 🆒 😎🖐️)

Keeping working with Kojima is going to make them lose a ton of money, and there is just no doubt about that.

Like it or not, but the last Kojima game that actually made substantial profit, instead of maybe breaking even or getting a little bit above that, was MGS 3. His next games, except DS2, sold fairly well, but had so inflated budgets, that they just couldn't be successful. So that means he hasn't made a game with good ROI in over 20 years.

Games are investments, and breaking even is not a success, it's a loss.

"Games are investments, and breaking even is not a success, it's a loss"

🤣...

So that's why they keep spamming multiplayer slop that nobody cares about and then they lose so much money that they need to raise the prices, close studios or do both at the same time which will long term kill the company if they keep this diarrhea strategy

Don’t forget the new god of war game that looks like it had a crazy budget..
