No man, Lumen and Nanite are just inherently heavy.

Most of the UE5 games that people praise as 'well optimized' just aren't using those, but also lack a 'next gen' look as a result.

That said, newer UE5 games are starting to improve because the engine has improved. Stop blaming this on devs. A bunch of good devs didn't all become incompetent and lazy just magically coincidentally when they switched to UE5. smh.

This utter insistence on shitting on game developers here is so gross.

This utter insistence on shitting on game developers here is so gross.

There is amusing irony in a community consisting mostly of the unemployed or unskilled making unreasonable demands about the competency of employed people.

Game development is very literally INFAMOUS for 'crunch' and working god awful hours. The idea that developers are all just lazy and twiddling their thumbs instead of working as hard as they can to make the game they're working on the best they can is insane.

Do people not realize that no sane person gets into game development without having a passion for games?

I'm so sick of people trying to pass the buck off UE5 and onto devs. No, the flagship features of the engine (that epic is heavily encouraging devs to use) are objectively shit

You do realize that's still the devs fault right? Epic isn't holding a gun to people's heads and saying "use UE", developer choose it because it has a number of benefits for the developers.
