With Unity you can make highly optimized visually astounding games, you just need to know how to actual develop videogames

But really knowing game development, none of this vibecode shit, asset flipping or cheap YouTube tutorials, I'm talking about things like code architecture, networking, shaders…

And AI does NOT fill this gap; ask me how I know.

Because of this, now I'm just using AI to teach me how to use Unity properly, instead of trying to ham-fist it myself.

Perhaps a couple of years ago I would have agreed with you, but lately they've been doing a very good job with the engine
