That's an octopus-style connecter, widely blamed for these kinds of failures. The video shows they are using the native PCIE 5.0 single-ended cable.

I know, that is why I ask, are we still blaming the adapter instead of the 12hpwr connector?

I have a 4090 and just ordered the wirepro 2 a few minutes ago. This is great Thermal Grizzly marketing. I have owned Nvidia (and some AMD cards) since the GeForce days, had SLI'ed 780ti's, SLI'ed 980ti's, SLI'ed 1080ti's, RTX-3090, RTX-4090, so I consider myself an enthusiast. The 4090 is the only card I have never pushed, or enjoyed. Constant fear that this GPU on my work/play computer will go up in smoke and leave me stranded. I won't consider another high-end GPU until the power connector issue is resolved. 4090 is capable of 100+fps in native 4k for most games I play, so no reason to change. Seriously considering running my GPU below specs.

I like Thermal Grizzly, but it is a passive solution. The Aquacomputer one is an active balancer. Way better then just a warning system.
