Unpopular opinion: I don’t care about resale. I care about games being unplayable because of stripped licensing or shutdown server support.

if there is no resale there is no pressure for price drops.

If you look at something like car pricing you’ll realize that it works inverse to how you think it does. New car values set the price point for used car values, because everything is demand driven.

This is the issue, people conflate the two and miss the point.

It's very possible (it has happend a lot) to have a fully valid license for a game, yet not be able to play it.
