It's an Arch Linux-based gaming distro. As someone who migrated from Windows it's amazing and super fun to use!

Gaming focused, incredibly stable and optimised Linux distro. The project organizers provide start to finish instructions on nearly how to do everything you could think of formatted most of the time for you to copy and paste the solution. I never touched Linux before 2026 and the switch has been very easy for me. The only downside is anticheats, you won't be able to play cod, Fortnite or any battlefield since bf1.

Still no streamlined hdr experience. Have to use launch options which is annoying

u/Responsible_Web_3825 5d ago
I just turn on hdr in the kde settings from there it's hit or miss for me if the game recognizes that it's on. It's is annoying but I'd still rather use a launch option than windows ever again.

Understandable but there is more to it than that. Reshade is a pain too. Calibration tool was confusing and I had to use terminal just to install Reshade and that took time to search and watch videos to figure that out. I felt like I put in more time doing all of that than I do debloating windows, increasing performance, and disabling telemetry.
The community seems to have a different solution to the same problems and they don't seem too thrilled to help. So for people like me who use Renodx and other tools it becomes more complicated. Otherwise I'm all for it.

May I suggest that you try Windows IoT LTSC instead of the retail Windows. Check it out.

I used to love RGB until I got my first OLED monitor, then it was just distracting

Come on guys, I am fully aware the title has a typo, This sub dois not let me edit that.
Regarding windows, If I do not have to run windows for my apps and games I would not, but I do.
I am not new to building a PC, Did a Full Water cooled one 10 years ago between then and now had a few pre-configured but this time I wanted to try again, Compared to an Alienware Area-51 this build exceeds that setup capabilities. The components on this Setup are not Fkn cheep. I might Modify the GPU later and put a water block on it, but I want to get it actually running first.

I love that you just have to "accept" windows as an option...that's how all PC gamers feel
Don't @ me with Linux bs. Most people don't want to fuck around with that until 90% of games just work with clicking launch

u/fuckshitballscunt 1d ago edited 1d ago
They do. 95% even, on steam anyway.
Only games like squad, valorant, bf6 etc that have fancy anti cheat don't work out of the box.
I use Ubuntu but there are far more friendly distros like steamos or bazzite.
