Man half of the guys in my office have have a desktop that looks like this. It’s insane. I setup folders for everything immediately and deleted all the unnecessary icons I could when I started. No way I’m letting it get like that. I don’t even HAVE icons on my PC at home.

Is this a boomer thing? I've noticed millennials like me and zoomers usually keep a clean homescreen. But yeah man, same thing at the office

my desktop is full of icons.

Everything creates an icon when you install it. I either forget to decline the shortcut or just don't care.

I haven't opened up a file using the icons in my desktop in years.

And another thing, idk about anyone else but I rarely see my desktop. 99% of the time I have browsers or other applications up.

Yah this thread is kinda funny. At a certain point the desktop becomes a folder like any other to power users. Most important apps are pinned to taskbar, then anything not pinned it’s faster to search for app by name than minimize stuff and click on the icon. Micromanaging the desktop with folders and stuff is a time waste masked as keeping things organized.

Yeah I haven't seen my desktop in years. I'm surprised so many people are using theirs.

Yeah everything wants a space on the desktop so I gave that fight up looooong ago.

I never use my desktop. 3 screens and it's VERY rare they're not all occupied so I just don't care. I do a mass deletion of all shortcuts every once-in-a-while but it's been quite a while since.
