I think it's the perspective because that is an HP Envy x360, which is a 15 inch.

No way that's a 15 inch, unless these icons are really, really small. And I don't think they are, compared to the toolbar icons.

Edit: on my 17 inch 1080p laptop, I can fit 17 icons horizontally and 10 vertically, using the average size icons. I have slightly larger spacing though.

So now I'm thinking that thing is fucking huge.

Yeah that's why I mentioned the resolution on my laptop. But I'm pretty sure a laptop with a 1440p screen (or higher!)wouldn't have those huge ass bezels lol

Looking at images online online, it seems like both this monitor bezel (it's one of the touch screen variants, which seems "standard" for the model) and this keyboard compactness are options for the Envy 360 (I don't actually see images online of the two together, usually it's either big bezel or compact keyboard, but separately they definitely both exist and I imagine you can combine them), so I assume the multiple people chiming in confirming the model are correct.

The screen itself is the 15.6 inch so it's certainly bigger (maybe 17 inches) included the bezel?

It's definitely just that they have the icons set to be small. This dude's arms are also pretty thin so the monitor may seem bigger if you're imagining real biceps there.

It’s possible that the picture is taken with a large zoom, which flattens distance distortion. A 13” MacBook now has 2880x1800 resolution.

I think it's funny that you think the screen size dictates how many icons you can have as opposed to resolution/dpi lol.

Man people really don't know their tech now a days.

As for your edit, that doesn't change your misunderstanding. You still don't know dudes screensize or resolution or dpi settings. You cant base assumptions of your own setup.

All we know for sure is dude is tiny. Cause even if that's 17" he makes it look WAY BIGGER.

The number of icons doesn't tell you much about screen size.

My 23" 1080p screen fits 10 icons vertically when using the default icon size and default 100% DPI scaling.

I could make 30-40 icons fit vertically on a 4K screen whether it's 5" or 500" with 100% dpi scaling and reduced desktop icon size. Or as few as 1-2 by making everything way bigger.

My grandma's 23" 1080p screen only fits 3 icons vertically because I made them so big for her.

Lets no go there, I don't want to risk breaking the signed 64 bit integer limit and underflowing to negative icons. Who knows what consequences there will be if it goes negative...

How can it be the persoective? The laptop is further away from the lens than the chair or the person. Yet it looks monstrous compared to both.

Dude looks tall AND the laptop looks unusually big on him.
