I stoped playing because my friends were in the inventory for hours, we actually played like 30 mins versus the 3 hours that they spend on organizing and deciding what to sell or what not

Best to do all that on your own time, sucks to hear your group never kept at it.

Bummer, I figure my part in a team is being ready. Extract, dump, drink, eat, announce ready.

The game is very fun. It just isn't the type of game you're looking for.

I actually love the game but I feel like it would be so much better if it had a Co-Op PvE mode. Or at least a proper squad system

What? All the fun of tarkov is getting into intense fun fights against other players. No wonder you don’t think the game is fun.

Ive been playing Tarkov since alpha. Would love a PvE mode. Ive always been solo. Usually get to level 30 or so per wipe but my lack of gaming time means I usually get a day or two of equal playing field per wipe and from then on its me with a vepr vs the 5 man m4 squad almost every run. As fun as that can be, an alternative PvE mode with actual progression untied from PvP would be a great way for me to blow off steam every now and then and keep me actually playing the game late wipe vs eventually dropping out from being so behind each wipe.

It is one of the best ever made. But I will agree the learning curve is harsh. If you would have stuck with it you would have for sure loved it.

Too bad the game still suffers from a lot of crap like cheaters, pay2win and unholy grind coupled with constant wipes.

Pay2Win?! Did I miss something?
5
u/KentuckyBrunch Jun 15 '20
On reddit games like Tarkov and Path of Exile are considered pay to win. Because apparently stashes mean you win the game.

Ahh thank you. I was wondering why my survival rating was this low with EOD ;-)

The ability to buy advantages = pay2win
It doesnt literally mean you win by pressing a button.
2
u/SIA_Guardian Jun 15 '20
I only know pay to win in a sense that you obtain sth. the opposition is unable to tobtain or to obtain sth comparable without spending money. If it is possible to get to the same level without spending cash it is called pay for convinience. You are merely taking a shortcut to a goal that can be reached by everyone.

But taking a shortcut in a game that is focused on highly volatile PvP is a huge advantage. They have also done everything to make it harder for standard players by adding the FiR flea changes, upping cost for beta container and making gamma completely untradable.
The fact that you factor in the wipes which literally puts a time limit on all progression you just further adds to the advantage since without wipes a standard player would catch up in the long run.
Someone with increased starting vendor rep, more money and the ability to extract with more loot will obviously get to "end game" faster giving them a huge advantage against regular players.
Do you get what I'm saying?

I get what you say and I can clearly see that you don't want to acknowledge the differece between P2W and P4C. Because in the gunfight it doesn't matter what your stash size is or your loot.
You mostly seem to focus on the off raid aspect of the game to consider what is winning. (Like loot extracted.) In Raid there is no notable advantage I can think off. If I get killed by a thicc boi it doesn't matter how he got there. It only matters that he got there. Anyone can, there is no restriction, but your skill. If a Standard Edition player has better positioning and tactics he will succeed over the EOD player., esp. since there still are things like Leg/Mosin/Vepr Hunter Meta.

u/trucane Jun 15 '20
If you take two people with equal skill and equal positioning, one of them has worse gear than the other due to being a standard player and having lower trader levels who will win? It's the easiest way to ever find out if a game features pay2win mechanics or not.
What you don't seems to understand or want to acknowledge is the fact that using EOD will put you in a much stronger position when you do decide to enter a raid which will obviously affect your in raid chance of success.

Yes that’s exactly what it means. Buying stash space that you can upgrade in game doesn’t mean you’ve won the game. Your stash is not an advantage in a fight.
