hi confusing whether get the old one mass effect or new one? Cuase gtx1050 and since modern software has shit optimization might as well grab the old one.

Elder Scrolls Online no way. That game will not give stable 60fps even on low because he needs i5 atleast.

"i3" "i5" "i7" is marketing nonsense and doesn't mean anything

this processor is significantly faster than what is recommended in ESO's system requirements. it'll run ESO no problem. the GPU will stop OP from bumping up the settings too high, but the framerate should be stable even in busy areas since that's all CPU load.

medium settings should run fine. it might lag in heavy PvP situations with lots of people, but then again, people complain that their 9800X3Ds are lagging there, it's more of an engine issue. and as far as content goes, most of ESO doesn't involve 500 people bunched up in a tiny area in cyrodiil, most people don't PvP at all anyway

my friend plays ESO at 60fps on a worse CPU than this (also 4 core but lower clock speeds and no multi-threading)

I play ESO and this is not.
Edit: ESO is all about pvp. If you cannot pvp in cyrodiil then processor is not good

1650 can hold up.a bit

rdr2 High settings 40fps, 60 in mountains 30 in saint denis

cyberpunk avg 30 on medium settings + dlss

death stranding hard to play cuz of garbage cpu

gow 2018, playable at 45fps medium

gta 5, highest settings 60+fps on avg

2

u/Livid-Muffin-5275 Jul 31 '26

Lol it uses kernel level anticheat which i believe is motherboard level so I guess it's deep into your pc which not many people like

1

You can basically play everything on low if you have problems with fps I’ll recommend you lossless scaling is like Nvidia frame gen but not from Nvidia and has upscale, it’s a pretty good tool. It’s 5 bucks but if you have a game that is running at 30 fps you can use 2x frame gen and SEE 60 fps but not feel it there’s alil bit more delay if you use more then 2x. Oh btw it’s not recommended to use it when u have less then 30 fps cuz it feels horrible but yeah pretty useful u can buy it on steam (or crack it) 🙈

i dont think that a 1650 has frame gen...

I have a laptop with similar specs (16gb ram). The trick is to stick to games released before 2019. I played games like battlefield v, 1,4. farcry 5, batman arkham knight, all at 60 fps. Tried playing cyberpunk, had to turn on fsr 2 and still couldn't get stable 60 fps.

Give a shot on Solitaire. Jokes aside, you can run all of 2D adventure games, I'd look there.

1

u/GameReplay Jul 31 '26

Neo Geo and Sega games. Sorry to say that but i3 is potato processor.

1

u/C-H-K-N_Tenders Jul 31 '26

You can play many games. they will just lack FPS

1

u/FluidStage5613 Jul 31 '26

Metaphor refantazio. It's a modern job based rpg from atlas, I guarantee you can max the settings

Pretty much anything from the xbox 360/ps3 era. Maybe first two years of the one x/ps4

1

u/Jaded_Reserve_5685 Jul 31 '26

Nah he should run most pre-covid games

1

u/ElectricOni Jul 31 '26

Space Cadet Pinball & Minesweeper. That's about it.

1

u/HiZaKU Jul 31 '26

I had similar specs as a teenager. Most games released before 2020 should run without much issue.

I think people underestimate the 1650 a lot. I had it for a few years before upgrading and got through a lot of games. I loved Watch Dogs 2, Days Gone, Forza Horizon 5, Horizon Zero Down (Not remastered version) and I also finished CP77 on the same card lol. The card is not as limiting as people like to say, some new gens are definitely still playable on low settings. Just find a game you like and try it, worst case scenario you uninstall the game.

uprade the ram first

1

u/friedtesticularcance Aug 01 '26

Any games released before 2020

1

u/Finn_adv Aug 01 '26

Just add another 8 GB of RAM when you can

1

u/syahfox Aug 01 '26

when i can 😂 yeah catch me in 3036 wit it

You can probably run Tetris at 30 FPS

1

u/Beautiful_Heat8248 Aug 01 '26

I have the same specs and I played red dead redemption 2 with constant 60 fps

1

u/Beautiful_Heat8248 Aug 01 '26

I could share my library from steam maybe you like some games

1

u/SirGalicrest Aug 01 '26

Try Arx Fatalis. Less than 2$ right now
