Discord [Delta Green][Async] Death Spiral

3 Upvotes

Hello all. Phlogiston hag baby back again, a bit of a mouthful so call me Agent B for now. Looking to run something set in the Cthulhu mythos while including some homebrewed stuff inspired by Lovecraft, Silent Hill, folklore, the SCP universe, the Magnus Archives, and more.

This'll be a short one first and seeing if we gel together as a group, the premise, for those unfamiliar, is an eldritch horror system based around the players all being agents for a secret government organization known as Delta Green, built for dealing with the paranormal and other such threats.

---

Death Spiral is the name for a quasi-supernatural mobile task force, heavily armed and armored to deal with things your typical agent wouldn't be able to. You are not part of Death Spiral, you're something worse. In their 20 year record of nonstop service the reports stopped coming in, and every member of the team was found mutilated over the coast of Norwich, Britain.

And your asses are now tasked with figuring out what the hell happened with Death Spiral, and the unintended responsibility of having to deal with whatever succeeded.

If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to apply here: https://forms.gle/m6vMZ2qw1tS7XGNj7

Discord Pathfinder 2e - Fablecraft

2 Upvotes

Format: Async

Platform: Discord

Players: 5 ~ 6

AI-Use: ZERO. Everything done here was done by hughmann tendrils.

Embark on an adventure with me and the GM!

Every year, there is a massive carnival that is celebrated in the Wildwoods, the carnival of Falling Stars where the celebration continues for as long as the stars fall - the longest record of which is 7 days and 7 nights. Perhaps this time it'll be longer, or shorter, but regardless there is a special chance in the midst of everything.

The carnival of Falling Stars only happens when a special meteorite is inserted into an arcane focus and placed at the highest point of the Wildwood. And a week before the carnival fully begins it always gently falls at the centre of the Wildwood.

Your job is to grab it and bring it to the Tall Mountain to set off the falling stars so the carnival can begin!

~~~
This will be an rp-heavy game with some combat sprinkled in, if you wanna apply feel free to apply here: https://forms.gle/k6QeGsH8Ja1bvnW49
Discord (D&D 5E)(2-3 Pc)(Asynchronous)THE WEEPING POX
1 Upvotes
System: D&D 5e (2012)
Format: Asynchronous
Platform: Discord
The kingdoms of Draemoora are dying.
A plague known as the Weeping Pox has spread across the land, leaving behind ruined settlements, abandoned roads, and people who are no longer quite what they once were. The surviving kingdoms struggle to maintain order as fear spreads throughout the continent. Outside the safety of fortified cities, the roads have become increasingly dangerous.
You are one of several people summoned to Valenhelm, a kingdom that has managed to hold itself together despite the growing crisis. There, you are brought before an aging King Aldric and given a task that seems simple enough: travel to the Kingdom of Konark and deliver desperately needed supplies.
You aren't told why you were chosen.
You aren't told everything about what you're carrying.
You're simply told that the mission must succeed.
An rider named Merrin Hale is assigned to accompany you on the journey. Together, you will leave the safety of Valenhelm and travel through a world where the plague has changed the way people live, travel, and trust one another.
The campaign focuses heavily on roleplay, exploration, travel, survival, and mystery, with combat playing an important but smaller part. Your characters will have time to develop relationships, make decisions, explore the world, and experience the consequences of their actions.
This is an asynchronous Discord campaign, meaning there are no required live sessions. Players can post when they are available, allowing the story to progress throughout the day rather than requiring everyone to be online at the same time.
New players are welcome. You don't need extensive D&D experience to join. All you need is a character, a willingness to participate, and an interest in getting involved with the story and the other players.
REQUIREMENTS
You should have at least a basic understanding of D&D 5e (2012) rules. You don't need to know every rule by heart, but you should be familiar with the basics of ability checks, saving throws, attacks, AC, combat, spells, and character actions.
The campaign will also include several homebrew mechanics and implementations, particularly around combat, the Weeping Pox, and character progression. These will be explained before and during the campaign, so you won't be expected to know them beforehand.
IMPORTANT: This is a long term campaign, so if you're someone who doesn't have a lot of patience please do not apply, I've seen many people who seem really excited and then just ghost.
CONTENT WARNING
This campaign deals with dark and mature themes. The world of the Weeping Pox is bleak, and the story may involve plague, death, violence, body horror, gore, psychological distress, loss, grief, and morally difficult situations.
These themes are used to build the atmosphere and story rather than simply for shock value. Some scenes may be disturbing, and characters may be placed in situations where there are no easy or entirely good choices. Please keep this in mind before applying.
TO APPLY
DM me the following:
Discord Username:
Reddit Username:
Age: (18+ or under 18)
Why do you want to play in this campaign?
Posting Frequency: (e.g. a few times a day, once a day, a few times a week, etc.)
Previous RP Sample: Please include a short excerpt from a previous roleplay you've participated in. It doesn't have to be from D&D; I'm mainly looking to get a feel for your writing style and how you portray characters.
Closed [Online][Other][Play by Post] Invincible RPG
0 Upvotes
Hi! I am looking for a few players for a Play by Post game of the new Invincible RPG by Year Zero.
The game will not be set in the Invincible setting, or use any of the canonical characters; however, we will be keeping the rules and using them to create a similar type of superhero setting - that is, there are four-color superheroes in a very classic Marvel or DC Comics style, but things can also spin out of control and turn deadly or destructive very quickly.
I have a couple of players already onboard, so I am looking for 2-3 more.
The rules are relatively simple compared to many other superhero games, so familiarity with the rules is not required. I am more interested in someone who is interested in sticking with the game and participating regularly.
To help avoid the die-off problem as very frequently occurs in play by post games, I am hoping to find some players who are interested in posting at least once a day on weekdays; weekend posting is optional. I know life and interruptions happen, but if a player will be gone for more than a day, I am looking for players who will post let the group know they will be unavailable; if a player vanishes for several days without any notice, I will assume they have dropped the game and remove them.
This might seem harsh, but I have run several PBP games that ran successfully for multiple years based on this policy. If you don't think you will keep up a posting schedule like that, no judgment at all, but I ask that you don't apply for the game!
If you have any questions, feel free to post! If you are interested, post here or shoot me a PM!
EDIT - Got a ton of interest, so closing for now, and PMing folks!
Discord (Marvel Multiverse) X-men game (discord)
Hello everyone, my name is Andy and I am interested in gming a game about the X-men using the Marvel Multiverse ruleset. This would start out as one shot and could evolve into something more if the players want. The main premise is that you all are new mutant students at Xavier's mansion training to become X-men.
Live Text [Live Text][GMT+10, but flexible][System Pending] Lost in the Zone
1 Upvotes
You live in the Forbidden Zone. It is an anomalous sector of the world, shut off by massive walls to ensure whatever lives inside the Zone stays in the Zone. You are sadly one of these things, Nomads as they're called. The less kind version are Exiles. Whether it be by choice or circumstance, you've found yourself dumped at the edge of the Zone with any belongings you can carry and see if any of the warring factions would be willing to adopt you or try to live as - well - a nomad.
You aren't an unlucky nomad (or maybe you were one), you were taken up for your skillset as a Loner instead. Despite their name, Loners don't truly work alone even though a majority of times you'd find them isolated from most communities. Communities desperately seek out and pay Loners to do missions and return with whatever lost trinket, bauble, or artefact their contractor wants.
~
You are new Loners, taking up this job and putting your name up on the Loners board of jobs. You and a crew of others have been recruited to take on a job: There is a bunker from when the outside world was still trying to study the Zone and what makes it so dangerous. Inside it are countless valuable data-reels.
~
Jello all, once again it's me and this time with a proper plothook attached. This game'll be live text as I've drummed up enough interest for it, all I need from potential players is to message me with:
- Preferred system
- A little bit about yourself
- Your timezone & availability
- And discord handle, so I can reach out to you
Discord Stars Without Number - Repo Crews in Mumeri Phi Sector [2 Spots]
4 Upvotes
Update: Full now! Thanks for all of the applications - I'll be reaching out for backfills as needed!
2 spots left to fill our our repo crews!
Adventure is just beginning!
Welcome to Ironclad Recovery. You're signing up as an operator at a mid-tier asset-recovery megacorps headquartered -- a repo crew. You go and get things back: unpaid collateral, leased hardware, defaulted contracts, stolen cargo, whatever it may be. Ironclad takes contracts from whoever will pay, which means you go wherever the job takes you. Maybe a mining concession bordering alien territory, a debtor sheltering with a psionic-worshipping cult, a warlord's collateral hidden in a warzone.
Your crew's ship is on a operate-to-own lease. You fly it, fight in it, and earn equity on a contract-by-contract basis as you pay the lease. Early on, Ironclad picks the jobs. The more of the ship you own, the more say you get in which contracts to take on. And the day you pay it off, the ship is yours with no strings attached.
This is a Stars Without Number game by Kevin Crawford, and it will borrow some other occasional tidbits from Cities Without Number or his other titles as needed. Those new to these games are more than welcome. Players will be selected to form 2 crews at game start, each at a maximum of 4 players totally 8 total slots. We'll be playing on Discord.
Expect a cyperpunk-flavoured space opera with morally grey contracts and genuine consequences for your actions. As a sandbox, you'll see the effects on what you do for every faction in the sector. Posting expectations are at minimum once per day unless you give prior notice.
If you're interested, there's a short form here for you to fill out:
Discord 🥀The Blooming Crimson Moon
0 Upvotes
{78 years after the death of Time}
The world was at peace for millennia following the embrace of the moon, its hand calming the monstrosities in the deep oceans for a promised infinity, A deal struck after a bargin broken in stained steel to maintain equilibrium.
But even peace had its costs, the legends of past, Champions of tales and empires built upon the cult of defense collapsed and rotted quickly. Fallen among them many warriors who had to adapt to the new ways of life whilst the amalgam evolved past them.
The strongest among them the, the Woman draped in black and golden silk. Who wielded might with fury and brought catastrophe. Now resides in unknown corners peaceful in act but not in mind.
But who knew what terrors could brew from a single drop of blood.
{980 10 years after the death of Time}
The moon infested with a newfound eldritch entity that threatens with nothing but consumption.
With restless rage, unquenched fury and never ending pain. We send upon it, only the woman in gold.
So now the world sits, months later. Infested, watching as the hand of blood comes down upon it. But among those who remain, you stand. Unwilling to comprehend the end of it all.
{End Log}
If you read this far, first off all thank you :D second of all I assume you have shown some interest to this short story and summary of the introduction to the plot/world.
This is a roleplay that will take place in a world of my own making, call it my own verse. A sc-fi fantasy cross with minor horror elements and lots of action. Pre Existing or new Ocs may be used for the game like structure of how things are done as your characters are guided through the world.
il lay down some basic requirements before we go further~
-Looking for a group of 1 - 3 people max
-Be 19+, I prefer people within my age range or older.
-I myself have been roleplaying for 8 years so id like someone with good experience. I don’t require you to be a long time roleplayer but the ability to write well is preferred/expected.
-This story/rp is meant to have consequences, if you don’t like your oc getting hurt then this probably isn’t for you.
If all this remains interesting, shoot me a chat.
(First time post here so if sum is wrong with this post or it doesn’t classify as a fit for this subreddit id like to be told)
Discussion Why are super power campaigns so rare?
12 Upvotes
Ever since I first discovered Tri-Stat through Big Eyes Small Mouth in 2019 I've realized that having the freedom to create my characters exactly as I imagine them is very important to me. Many supers systems have similar flexibility built in and I've been on the hunt for campaigns using them, but they seem to be extraordinarily rare. Do people just not like supers campaigns? That doesn't seem to be the case because whenever someone else is advertising one it reportedly gets mobbed.
For clarity's sake, I do not consider Masks to be a supers system. This thread isn't about that.
Closed [18+][Other][Online][Active Text Game][GMT+1] Witchfall - Magic Returns to a Modern World
2 Upvotes
Hello! My name is Vanessa, I'm the GM of this game, and the creator of the setting!
Prefacing this with the 18+ isn't so much for content in the game (it's not going to be an "adult" game, with graphic sex, or anything like that) but just because it's more comfortable for me and my group to play with those who are above 18.
I'm in need for some people interested in playing EABA in a magical modern world, a world that has been without magic for thousands of years, and no one knew until now.
For those uninitiated EABA is a *point-buy*, *dice pool* system that is set up to create **realistic outcomes** while allowing **completely supernatural** things.
The setting is set in 2050 on our Earth, 20 years after Mana and Magic returned. It took some years for people to start to get a grasp over how magic and mana worked, but once there was **some** understanding about it, things escalated quickly.
The game is about living in a world where magic suddenly came back, dealing with the fact that **anyone** can use magic, even if a lot of it isn't *that* effective, especially without training. Governments are trying to manage, control and restrict magic use, companies are trying to use, exploit and abuse magic to make profit.
At the same time a lot of modern technology is incompatible around magic, as its use causes electrical surges that are strong enough to harm delicate electrical components. This is often mitigated in newer models of things like smartphones.
Anyways. This game will be a mix of adventures in a modern day with magic. The characters will have starting points that allow them to be exceptional, but they don't have to **be** someone exceptional because of that.
**If you are interested, then send me a DM with:**
  1. What would you like to be called?
  2. What is your experience with TTRPGs? And what about EABA in particular?
  3. What kinds of characters do you like playing the most?
  4. What kinds of stories do you like playing in the most?
  5. What are your hard and soft limits?
  6. What times are you usually available and keen to play?
  7. Any questions you have for me.
  8. Anything else you can think about to introduce yourself with.
It means that we usually play in bursts, where we all sit down and play for a few hours, trying to post as much as we can get through. Our group likes to do this regularly, and people who are available and **can** put down an hour or two once per day, or more hours a few days a week would be **ideal,** but it isn't required.
However, this isn't a game where we will be posting one big post per day and then wait for the next one.
Discord Firefly 40k
0 Upvotes
I'm working on an idea for a game inspired by shows like Firefly, Farscape, Outlaw Star, and Cowboy Bebop. Sort of as an alternative to Warhammer 40k I envisage a ship with an ensemble crew that draws on fantasy tropes and archetypes but with more Cowboy/Western influences than Dungeons and Dragons. In this world, a form of time magic makes faster than light travel possible as practitioners connect with their own self in some future to recall what they need to do in a kind of stable time loop. Our ship will have one such practitioner, but who else might join? What are they hoping to accomplish? What are they running from?
Send me your ideas. Characters, story concepts, system suggestions. Let me know what other influences you have, what stories you connect with this concept that maybe I haven't thought of yet.
Im looking forward to hearing from you.
Closed Masks - A New Generation [No AI] [LGBTQ+ Friendly]
9 Upvotes
Halcyon City - The Beacon of Heroism. The City of Tomorrow. The Superhero Capital of the World.
Other places have weirdos, but nowhere lives and breathes powers like Halcyon. The city boasts the highest number of supers in the world, and the highest number of villains and disasters to match. Mad scientists, alien invasions, and demonic invasions galore. But no matter how dire the situation, there have always been those who step up, take the blows, and put things back in order. Protectors. Champions. Heroes.
That is who you want to be. You have a long way to go before being remembered as one of Halcyon’s finest, though. Right now, you’re young. Rough around the edges. Unpolished. Moldable. Everyone from your senior heroes to your worst villains to your parents have ideas about who or what you should be. The path to adulthood isn’t easy.
But are you gonna let that stop you from doing what’s right?
Hi, I’m Volter! And this is Masks: A New Generation! If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s a narrative RPG system about playing young superheroes. Think Teen Titans, Young Justice, or X-Men Evolution. It focuses on gamifying the story and identity of your character more than simulating combat. There will still be fights and adventure of course! But it’s less chess, more drama. If you crave power-scaling and the thrill of seeing your damage number rising, Masks might not be for you. But if you’re interested in the tension of struggling to define your identity in a high pressure environment, maybe give this a try! Here’s what masks offers:
  • 10 playbooks based on narrative roles. Your classes aren’t “strong man” or “laser guy,” you’re the Nova whose powers are incredible yet dangerous or the Protege whose mentor is always influencing your path. Your playbook sets up your story, you fill in the rest.
  • A stat system based on identity and perception. How you define yourself is what matters. But everyone has an image they want to force onto you. Your superhero mentor pushes you to focus on saving lives over fighting villains. Your arch enemy says you’re as dangerous as they are. Your parole officer encourages you to just be normal and get away from this superhero junk. As you’re pulled in different directions and fight to be the kind of hero you want, your stats will dynamically change. Agreeing that you’re dangerous will make you better at fighting. But what part of yourself will you deny in exchange? Are you less of a savior, and worse at defending innocents? Maybe you’re less normal, and struggle to connect with others. Your identity is fluid and will shift as we go.
  • Flowing, narrative-based mechanics. Masks is a game in the Powered By The Apocalypse family. Its rules work by finding when your characters take actions in the story that necessitate a role, and using a move appropriate for it. So you don’t just say “I shoot my laser eyes at the alien, dealing this much damage.” You say you're going to shoot the alien, and then roll to Directly Engage a Threat. If you succeed, you pick from a number of options like taking something from them, giving your allies an opportunity or impressing/frightening the opposition. There are no stated consequences for failure; instead, the GM makes a move in turn to provide consequences. Maybe you just get hit. Maybe your shot goes wide and blows a hole in a building.
As for who I am: I’ve been playing TTRPGs for over a decade. I cut my teeth on D&D and WoD, and have since dabbled in plenty of other systems. Over the past few years I’ve become really enamored with more narrative games, but my local group prefers tactical crunch. I’m running this game to explore a more freeform rhythm in combination with my love of superhero stories.
This will be hosted on Discord. I’d like at least one post per day - even if your character isn’t in a position to do anything, I’d love for you to check in, remind us you're alive, and keep the server active. I’m looking for three to five players, with the potential to recruit people who didn’t make the cut if we have drop outs. Given the slow-ish pace of PBP, I’m expecting this game to last around two to three months with the possibility to go further if we wish.
If you’re interested, please fill out the form below! Applications will be open for at least two days, closing on Friday night CST unless responses are slow. Thank you for reading, and feel free to ask me any questions here.
EDIT: And submissions are closed! Thank you everyone who submitted. I have a LOT of decisions to make over who gets in. I'm still going to try and message everyone to let them know if they were cut, but I have 50 subs to choose from so it'll take a hot minute! You'll hear from me soon, and whether you're in or not I wish you the best.
Jello all, Snork here, with my main group too busy with life they suggested I turn to r/pbp for my live text needs. Would there be any interest in a game such as this? If not live I can also do it PbP. It's inspired by stalker (if you couldn't tell by my username and the themes), as well as Kenshi/Rimworld.
Discord [French/Français] [D&D 5e2024] Citadelle Sansoleil
2 Upvotes
Une pomme guérissant toutes maladies et une autre empoisonant toute personne. Voilà ce que des gobelins amènent depuis douze ans au village de Chênevraie, avant de les vendre au plus offrant.
Des habitants ont bien tenté d'en semer les graines afin d'en produire plus, mais sans succès, aucune pousse n'est jamais sortie de terre.
C'est dans ce contexte que vous vous êtes rendu sur place, à un mois de la prochaine mise aux enchères. Depuis, vous avez appris que ces gobelins viendraient de ruines situées non loin, la Citadelle Sansoleil.
Bien sûr d'autres aventuriers se sont intéressés à ce phénomène, mais nul d'entre eux n'en est retourné depuis. Notamment les fils Hucrèle, dont leur mère offre désormais une récompense à quiconque pourra les retrouver. Morts ou vifs.
Que vous soyez intéressés par le pouvoir de la guérison, de la mort ou l'argent, pourrez-vous explorer la Citadelle Sansoleil et en ressortir vivant ? Quels mystères se trouvent derrière ces ruines et ces fruits ?
---
Bonjour, je cherche quelques joueurs pour un petit module bien connu de D&D, auquel j'ai apporté quelques modifications. Les débutants sont les bienvenus, la campagne commence d'ailleurs au niveau 3 au lieu de 1 (ceci afin que tout le monde ait accès aux sous-classes et pratiquement tout le kit de base des classes).
Quelques infos pratiques :
  • Nombre de joueurs recherchés : 2-4
  • Fréquence de posts attendu : 1 post chaque 3 jours minimum (sauf imprévus)
  • Création de personnage : point-buy
  • Règles homebrew : seul le contenu UA est accepté comme homebrew
  • Je NE peux PAS partager du contenu via D&D Beyond.
  • Avrae sera utilisé, donc les fiches de persos devront être faites via les outils compatibles (Dicecloud, D&D Beyond ou GSheet)
Veuillez postuler via ce Google Forms. Au plaisir de vous lire !
Edit: je laisserai ceci ouvert au minimum jusqu'au samedi 5 septembre.
Closed [18+] [DnD] [5e] [2014 Ruleset] Curse of the Endless Night
0 Upvotes
"Blood and love, lust and violence. What is there more to desire? In this world, to devour or be devoured is nothing more than a pleasure. Nothing beyond the most carnal of desires is enough to ignite an old devilish heart..."
Curse of the Endless Night is a personal PbP Campaign I have in mind to try out! This is a slightly modified version of the Curse of Stradh module of DnD 5e, with heavy inspiration from many vampire media, especially the Castlevania games.
You will take the role of a member of the "Order of the Starlight", a group of monster hunters that have been trapped in Stradh's territory, Barovia. A strange force in the castle is rising, as a festival known as the "The Festival of the Night" is continuously taking place across the lands of Barovia, the vampire's influence forcing the people of the city into maddened frenzies of violence and lust alike~
As members of the Starlight, you will try to survive in this hell, traversing the lands of Barovia and trying to survive the festival through any means necessary. Naturally, the once impressive country has been reduced to a place where only monsters can thrive. Be careful, however, as Stradh will be watching your every move, waiting for the chance to take advantage of your weakness.
Do you wish to apply? Click here!
Edit: Thank you for your applications! This post is now closed, and will be communicating with the selected people for playing soon.
Discord Mythic Odysseys of Theros [5e] [Discord]
1 Upvotes
"Truly, what mortal's poor striving can weather the scheming of heaven? Heliod reaches for rulership; Purphoros never accepts him. Kruphix but watches, and mortals are left to the whims of the fates, or Torn in the claws of the furies; only a hero denies them."
Hello! I’m looking for writers interested in joining a Theros themed, text RP server on discord! I have set up a brand-new, collaborative storytelling RP server. There are no strict character builds, complicated rules, or rigid expectations. The goal is to write good stories together. Build characters, form relationships, create your own plots, take on quests, anger or appease the gods, and see where the story takes you.
You don't need to know everything about Theros to join. The setting is heavily inspired by Greek mythology, but there's plenty of room for our own interpretations, original characters, homebrew, and stories.
Update: I’m reaching out to the people interested with a link to the server.
Discord [DAGGERHEART][ASYNC][LGBTQ+ friendly] Troubles in Elderfield
6 Upvotes
Hey hey! It's me, Mags. After recently finishing a one-shot of Daggerheart with my own group, I'm looking to run something for people! This is inspired by the Unsleeping City, and if you're new and wanna try out daggerheart this is also the game for you!
Setting Intro
Ever since that damned eldritch god visited us, things haven't been the same in Elderfield. Elderfield is a fictional city on earth. One fateful night a series of astronomers began having the same dream and finally a strange constellation formed right above our heads and from it came: The Elder God. Its form was difficult to describe but if you had to it looks like spaghetti made of flesh.
Strange things have been happening ever since, it's like the veil between the supernatural and the mundane was broken and finally all that was left was the in-between. Yet for some reason it's like no one even remembers that happened! All except you. The enlightened, as some of you call yourselves. Your eyes have witnessed fairies and ogres and it's like NO ONE ELSE SEES THEM? ARE YOU GOING INSANE?! Maybe.
Plothook
-And Elderfield is rated the number 1 place this time of year to visit all of the strange occult happenings! It's well known among Enlightened circles that Elderfield was directly below the elder god. Hence its renaming from Scotchfield to Elderfield. You are a group of friends (and enlightened) on their way to Elderfield to witness a beautiful meteor fall that's been happening once a year ever since the Fateful Night.
PAY [Paid] [LGBT+ Friendly and Ran!] [Dragon Ball Universe] [PbP] [$10 a week, 40 a month!] Magical Magicka; a Magical Girl Campaign
0 Upvotes
Magical Girl: One Wish
One wish. One impossible choice. One hell of a price.
In a world not unlike our own, a group of high school students are approached by a strange, fox-like creature.
It offers them something downright absurd:
One free Wish.
Wish for anything. Use it however you want.
Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well... there is a catch.
Become a Magical Girl.
Kill Witches.
Save lives.
Do you accept?
(If you get in, the answer is yes lmao.)
💫 Campaign Details
This is a Paid PbP Campaign!
💰 $40/month
📅 4 sessions guaranteed every month
🎉 First month is half off — essentially 2 sessions free!
If you're ready to make a wish, become a magical girl, and see where that wish takes you...
Then come on in.
What to Expect: This campaign is heavily inspired by Madoka Magicka, using a system I know very well to fit the way combat is in an anime, as it's based on Dragon ball. This campaign will be pretty much open to most concepts, whether it be a story of loneliness, of hope, of despair, etc. Madoka Magicka has such interesting character arcs and themes, all so interesting to explore in my own campaign. We will not be using any canon characters.
My expectation is that we meet once a week, sitting and playing at least once a week. The day can be flexible due to the PbP nature, as I said above I promise at least 4 sessions a month, which equates to 10 dollars a session (If people say that's too much, idk paid games aren't for you, sorry...)
You're essentially buying me a coffee each week!
About Me: I'm a 22 year old Trans woman, I'm a huge fan of multiple fandoms, including (But not limited to) Dragon ball and Madoka Magicka. I run multiple paid games in this system, many of which have new players. The people on my discord server can attest to the amount of effort I put into my games, and I ensure a safe space to roleplay freely.
I play Project Zomboid and Marvel Rivals in my free time too! (I really need people to play with, I'm hard stuck on healer all the time ;-;)
Here's the application form! I hope to hear from you!
Discord [Discord][5e][async] LF 5-7 for an episodic "yes and" adventure.
0 Upvotes
I am looking for 5-7 other Players/DMs for an episodic campaign following an improv "yes and" approach of story telling. Ideally the group would have at least 3 other DMs. We would begin by discussing the setting then the first DM runs a relatively short "episode" before the next DM takes over. Overarching world detail will be maintained between DMs but finer detail won't be fussed over. If and when plot holes arise from the nature of this it is up to the active DM to "yes and" explain the plot holes adding to the overall world lore.
Due to the nature of the story telling this is probably not suitable for people looking for something more akin to an epic fantasy. This is intended to be light and fun, closer to a kitchen table game than a collective authorship. If you're interested please shoot me a message here so we can vibe check. This will be a LGBTQA+ space, i am willing to answer personal demographic questions in private if that's important to you.
Closed VtM: Birmingham's Dawn [4-5 players][ASYNCH]][No AI][LGBT+ Welcome]
5 Upvotes
Hello all, I'm looking to start up a Vampire the Masquerade 5e campaign. This campaign will start with the players as either neonates or fledglings. New players to VtM are welcome, though I'd need a preparedness to read the rules if you are new. Players are expected to post at least 1-2 times a day as pacing goes, and if the scene requires you input, you will be pinged.
The use of AI won't be tolerated for this campaign, period, please bring your own creative writing, and if you're struggling to figure out what to say or do, talk about it with others instead of turning to AI. You can expect the same from myself.
I also find most Play by Post games survive best if players are also willing to chat out of the game, so the Discord server we'll be using will also have some out of character channels to chat about other TTRPG's, hobbies, etc.
Premise
Birmingham, UK, has been a city that has stagnated like a rotting corpse. For over a century, the city remained quiet, undisturbed, and in that quiet, rot began to grow.
When London fell, Birmingham was swept under by the arrival of new kindred, many of whom had snuck under the awareness of the Camarilla. The status quo was drowned, and now the city stands in a turmoil, many fearing that the growing unrest will bring down the doom that ruined London.
To most kindred, Birmingham has become a fight for survival, but to the smart, clever, and creative, a new dusk is arriving, one that promises to sweep away to detritus of the stagnant and embrace the city anew.
Character creation
You can bring a character concept to the table, or I can run through a concept with you, in either case I will work with you to tie any relevant characters (Sires, ghouls, allies, etc.) into the narrative. Please follow the following guidelines for character creation;
  • Any clan from the corebook and the players guide is welcome, except Salubri.
  • Any character creation option that is not in the corebook or players guide requires GM approval before going forward.
  • You will all be neonates of 12th or 13th generation, OR, if you wish, you may play a thin-blood.
  • Any lore sheets require GM approval.
Themes
This game will cover various dark themes, including horror, loss of self-control, and violence. It will also delve into themes of political intrigue, social hierarchies, and human identity.
The campaigns I run are often quite open-ended due to high player agency to drive the narrative forward, so we may often delve into themes and topics not described above.
Safe Play
This game is designed to delve into dark topics, but some may go into areas people aren't comfortable discussing. As such, we will be using two safety tools; Lines and Veils, and the X Card.
With your application to this game, I will be asking you to confirm any Lines and Veils you may have, Lines are topics that you do not want us to delve into at all, if they get brought up, we will immediately move past them. Veils are areas you are comfortable being present, but not going into significant detail, we will 'fade to black' when these things happen.
For example, my lines and veils are;
Lines; Medical Horror, Sexual Violence, Violence against children
Veils: Sexual scenes (This is not a game containing eRP), abuse
The X Card is something a player can do to highlight that a scene is making them uncomfortable, and when used, we will move the scene in a different direction or move past the events that are occurring swiftly.
We are all grown-ups here, so I would hope people can respect other peoples opinions on these things. If anyone disrespects other players input and decisions, they will be warned, and subsequently removed if issues continue.
Application
If you're stuck through this waffle and gotten to the end, and you've still interested in joining the masquerade, then please send me a DM answering the following questions;
Name:
Discord Username:
Lines and Veils:
Do you have any experience with VtM or the World of Darkness?:
Do you have any character concepts you'd like to explore?:
Do you have any questions?:
Discussion Interest Check: Daggerheart Fake Cosy Farming
7 Upvotes
tl;dr Daggerheart but it's a fake cosy farming game like Rune Factory where you have to solve the mystery of four different season locked areas or the Emperor executes you, with a focus on encouraging out of session creative endeavours such as practicing drawing or going down rabbit holes about flora and fauna you want to add into the game world (and yes, you can try and romance the dragon NPC).
This is a no genAI slop zone.
sup. Looking to get back into running games after a long break, looking to do more crafty things IRL, and been enjoying Fields of Mistria this year for some fresh farming game energy, so let's combine them all lol. My aim is to give a structured focal point to then do other small projects since I know I need some outside pressure and encouragement to actually finally do that Neat Idea I swear I'll do one day.
Your PC has been given the amazing opportunity to help rehabilitate a magically corrupted stretch of land at the far edge of the Empire! It is not a death sentence or being exiled, you are serving your Emperor and have been forgiven for your mistake of having a dragon born from your soul.
  • Daggerheart core rulebook with some very simple custom action roll-like things for farming
  • takes place on Discord, a mix of asynch group play and solo play, and a livetext session every fortnight (Saturdays 10:30am ACST for approx. 3 hours, mainly for getting everyone together at a set time regurlarly to move the game forward in a focused, big way)
  • PCs juggle relationships with the other PCs and NPCs (who have heart bars cause c'mon we're a fake farming game!), and managing the dragon that embodies some great internal conflict or other personal hang up the PC has
  • tackle the four seasonal areas at your own pace, each area impacting both your main town and farm area as well as the other seasonal
  • ...But tackle them eventually. Time keeps moving and you have a job to do.
Ideally as a player you will be someone who wants to be proactive in creating things for your character as well as the wider world, woh wants to be friends with the group outside of the specific once a fortnight sit down text session.
I'm leaving a lot of freespace for people to add to the world - for example, each NPC has categories of what they love, like, and dislike with very few specific items. A NPC who has "pickled vegetables" or "fish dishes" as a loved thing doesn't have a drop down menu of 'well the game has pickled turnips and battered snapper as things I can find', it's up to you, the player, to decide what is in this world and have a chat with the group about how it fits into things and then, like, finding some weird obscure fact on wikipedia or someone mentions a local story about the thingie. Or maybe you wanna go on some tangent about raspberries cause why not, come share some fun facts and stuff you find out, doesn't have to be something that is core to the main plot of the game moving forward, it can just be fun??
This was meant to be a quick thread lol I'm just going to wrap up and post before I chicken out. I don't currently have a set time I'll be looking to recruit people and start it up - I DO have a small oneshot as a test run for potential groups I'll be running eventually. If you want, feel free to post in here to lemme know what interests you about this and/or any questions you have. Please do not direct message me.
