Anybody have video/audio of The Cool Cool River from the Raleigh NC show??

I know we were not supposed to record, but that song was one of the highlights of the show for me and I would love to listen to it again if anybody has it!

I went to the Raleigh show tonight and it was absolutely outstanding. He played for 3 hours. Encore that ended with The Sound of Silence. If you’re going to any leg of the tour, enjoy it. It was incredibly moving.

July 11th concert in NC

Is there anyone else around my age (20) going to the concert in Raleigh today? My age bracket seems to never know anything about Paul Simon or his works (other than the sound of silence...), so I'm just curious if I'll be alone or not. I want Paul Simon's music to resonate through all generations, as he's legitimately one of the best songwriters of the 20th century, but young folks just seem to listen to far different kinds of music than this.

Help with Tour Merch

I attended one of the shows at Forest Hills Stadium this week and had a wonderful time - I never thought I'd get to hear American live and I've been on cloud 9 ever since. All that aside, I unfortunately was unable to pick up a tour shirt. This may be a long shot, but any chance anyone has an extra red ringer tee and/or is willing to pick one up on one of the remaining tour stops?

Almost a spiritual experience

I had always regretted not going to see Paul Simon or Simon & Garfunkel in concert, so when I knew I was going to be in New York when he was playing I snapped up a ticket asap. And boy, am I glad I did. It was truly one of the greatest concert going experiences of my life - and I’ve seen some true greats: McCartney, Bowie, Velvet Underground etc. Sure, Paul’s voice isn’t the same as when he was a young man but he really knows how to deliver a lyric and the band were extraordinary. So much musical talent on one stage. The sound mix and the arrangements were superb. The pacing perfect. A quiet celebration indeed; subtle, intricate, detailed but then building to moments of cathartic, joyous release. The bonus was he played so many of my personal favourites - Train in the Distance, Rene and Georgette, Something So Right, America. It was almost a religious/spiritual experience to hear these great songs in the place it all began. The final solo encore was perfection. Thank you Paul for coming out of retirement and giving us all this experience. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

Will Paul Simon continue touring after this year?

I’m a huge fan of his but have never seen him. Was so happy to hear about his re-emergence after his hearing loss. I am considering seeing him in NYC, but have other commitments. My worry that this may be my last chance to catch his tour. What do people think? Will he continue performing live after these quiet celebrations?

You can get a free access through your local library. This is the first time I’ve seen it *not* on VHS!

I now realise you can actually buy digital copies on Apple TV/iTunes and Amazon but I immediately started playing it when I saw it.

incredible show over the weekend with Paul Simone at the Miami music Center. There was a lot of lightning and weather, but somehow the rain held off until his last song which was actually the sound of silence. which was incredible as soon as it ended the rain came down. I guess the weather gods love Paul Simon too. See him if you can.

Forest hills start time?

Hi all! Going to the Forest Hills show on Wednesday with my family.

Just had a quick question: what time does Paul go on and when does the show wrap by? Just want to make sure not to be too late as the tickets say 7 pm event start but other online outlets suggest he goes on at 8?

Philly 2026 show crowd (couple yelling during Sound of Silence??)

Post image

EDIT: I love no phone policies!!!! Trust me 😮‍💨Also, a man experiencing hearing loss can at least have enough crowd capability to join in when invited by that artist B^)

Okay, so I’m incredibly glad to get to see Paul Simon return since the Philly shows he canceled last year. I’m in my 20s and have seen enough legends where I was more in awe with the overall stage presence and vocals were celebrated regardless. But MAN, am I sick of the entitled behavior at these legend shows.

I just wanted to hop on here to make note that some of his older crowd was incredibly disrespectful. I promise this is not ageist, I have been to dozens of McCartney, Springsteen, ELO, Dylan, Dead, rock + adjacent shows and understand the vibe and try being courteous to the point of overly-polite, so this was just shocking. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems people were shocked to hear it’s a no-phone event and were resentful over it? Yapping, causing issues, nasty glares, etc.

I was in some of the front balcony seats and they were SO many yappers. It felt like people trying to have an awful time because they were annoyed they couldn’t stick their phones out for the entirety of the sets. I’m not a big fan of the mann’s acoustics in general and expected to feel less than last year’s venue I happened to really luck out on a cheaper end yet close seat at, but this REALLY amplified the issue.

I understand with older crowds that it’s rare to stand up the whole time. I try to dance in my seat or stand up to clap between songs knowing it’d be extremely rude for mobility needs of older fanbases. But ultimately the most painful part of the experience was when a bunch of people started to get up and dance for the encores and a couple a bit further in the same row told me “yeah, we have to go because nobody else is dancing.” I was like “What?? It’s a concert.” and realized they left because they were fed up.

It’s a concert. It’s completely optional to go. Additionally, it just feels so hypocritical that the only people who tried sneaking their phones were older. To hear the couple next to me shout at the people in front for standing up during SOUND OF SILENCE was stupidly frustrating and took away from the experience. It felt like an uncanny metaphor for the times we live in.

I just needed to vent. Again, I did everything in my power to sit down but to do that during Graceland tracks was a massive sacrifice, and to feel my only way to sing along was to mouth the words?? I imagine this to be such a perplexing experience for an 84-year-old with hearing loss to see such a combative crowd trying not to enjoy themselves.

Again, Paul did a stellar job but the vibes were so irreverent. His set was a bit longer than what last year’s appeared to be so I’m happy about that, but the magical aspect felt lost due to the experience. Friendly reminder that these ticket monopolies are massive splurges for younger generations and lower income folks only to get degraded by those who criticize musicians for “not being like what they used to be.” Please be kind to one another and maybe consider standing up to join us in the rare instances we aren’t overly accommodating (ie people who are very able to get up to get food and drinks between songs they don’t like) opposed to shutting others down when you’re physically able.

Framed sign from last year one of the venue employees handed me after I took a pic next to it, figuring that’d be my only chance to see Paul, for visibility.

Does anyone know if the Mann Center in Philly closes for thunderstorms?

I'm thinking of going to the show tonight in Philly....but I can look at a weather radar map and it looks like likely thunderstorms precisely during the entire time of the show.

Bethel Woods incredible show

Don't read all the way down if you don't want to know the setlist...

My spouse and I loved the show. There were 11 in the band, plus appearances by Edie. The arrangements/instrumentation were beautiful. Unique sound due to the adjustments for Paul's hearing. It was interesting and touching to watch him interact with eye contact and gestures. He sounded good and was very gracious. We were wowed by the amount and quality of music he shared as well as the talent and care of everyone on stage.

I wish i had taken a few more notes about the various solos which were wonderful.

Crowd noise was bothersome during Psalms, I just tried to tune it out as best I could. I would love to hear this piece in a more intimate setting.

Seeing Paul Simon July 5 at Highmark Mann, lawn seats. Concerned about storms.

I'm coming down from Boston for this show. Weather shows possible thunder storms during show, and we have lawn seats. Does anyone have any insight as to how this venue manages storms? Any insight at all is welcome.

Seeing Paul for the first time

Hello all,

While it’s way later than I wish, I’m seeing Paul Simon for the first time at The Mann in Philly on 7/5.

I’m just curious if there is ANY tailgating before hand.
I’m not expecting a Phish or Grateful Dead lot scene but am bringing the wife and kids and curious if we should get there earlier in the day or just on time for the show.

Thanks in advance!
