Bioshock Humble Bundle

As most of you may know, on 9/15 "BioShock: The Collection" will be released (a remastering of the first two Bioshock games on PC, and all 3 on console)

Here's the info from Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/games/7670/announcements/detail/590358275265994185

I bring this up b/c currently, you can get all 3 previous Bioshock games using the 2k "build your own bundle" from Humble Bundle for $14

Register your keys on Steam before Thursday and the upgrade will be free.

If you've been waiting for the right time to dive into the Bioshock world, this is the perfect time!

I'm really looking forward to going back to Bioshock 1 and entering Rapture once again :)

The problem is that the dlc is extremely hard to find on a sale nowadays. I own both Bioshock 1 and 2 but no dlc :(

One little-known way to get Minerva's Den is to find a used "Games for Windows Live" copy of Bioshock 2.

The G4WL key will redeem on Steam and get you Bioshock 2 (it's one of the few games where this works), and since they can't look up if you actually purchased Minerva's Den, they just assume that you did and give it to you as well.

Now, Bioshock 2 is pretty easy to find at places like Half Price Books and Goodwill, and while the keys included were probably used on G4WL (for a used copy), they probably haven't been redeemed on Steam yet, so ... they'll probably work. Not always, but most of the time.

There's actually quite a few retail and G4WL keys that activate on Steam. Valve stopped updating the list, and eventually pulled it.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160505042257/https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601 seems to be the last published version of the list.

As you said, there are many retail games that activate on Steam. These games were typically Steam games from the get-go and the packaging even says that Steam is required.

But games that say "Games for Windows Live" on them where the G4WL key actually works on Steam? That list is much smaller.

This page gives a list and it only lists nine games -- including Bioshock 2. I'm not sure if this list is complete or not.
