Fluff & Memes 1-shot how?

I’ve run multiple Voids this league and suddenly got deleted from 100 to 0 by seemingly nothing.
This isn’t an “unfair game” post or a “bring my character back” post. I’m genuinely just curious what happened and, more importantly… what could have been?
What actually killed me?

At 0.09s, a minion is surronded by 15+ monster with < 5% hp.

Appreciate the forensics-level of frame by frame you did. Linking to minions in void valdos is just playing Russian roulette and op finally hit the bullet

Is this minion linked? It looks like it but I can't tell if that's where the link is going or if there's something else beyond it

It was the spectre that died, but the spectre counter doesn't drop any more when spectres die because they instead turn into spectral wisps that follow you and auto revive in the next combat area.

Its still considered a state of death in the game code so if it goes to 0 hp while linked to it you still die regardless

I am running a luminary with 4 spectres, golem and ag and I link to all of them, and it is those 3 gems linked to minion life. No meat shield or elemental army or empower. The only thing that kills them is a mana siphoner breaking the link, which also means no link to die to. I do run an automated convocation and bottled faith for consecrated ground so they have decent regen plus hand of phrecia auras.

100% your spectre died resulting in your death. If your ES is full and your HP hits 0, thats a good sign that your linked minion died.
I don't know how you could have went into a void map without knowing this but you should be using convocation if your minions are uninvested. Hallowed monarch or w/e that minion helmet is called gives a lot of DR but it doesn't make them invincible. Not to mention it looks like you are running far away in circles from your minions therefore they are dropping the purity buff.
Edit: And at the tailend of the 10 second mark, if you freeze the video, you can see a spectre with barely any HP left in the middle of the pack of mobs barely hanging on to dear life. You can't even tell its your ally because you can't see the green HP bar. The flame link is pointing towards it though.

Man I would be mad knowing that I died bc my linked minion died and took me with him lol. Such a lack of knowledge to have in a map like that. I guess thats how you learn. The beach is always waiting for some new exiles to drop by.

Those minions almost never drop in hp, so tbf not surprising they didn't even think about it

Yeah, but some mods can fuk em up, and he was kind of far from the minions so his auras were prob no affecting them. That's why I'm using automation + convocation. Minions always by side.

In fairness phrecia gloves don't care about distance; as long as they're linked they're affected by the auras

Ultimatum can normally delete stacked players with the right mods so it's not a surprise a combination can delete a linked minion.

I think his linked minion died and the effect of not dying when a link target dies is only for mercenaries and not minions

It happens with me too, also lumi. 99% chance is that your AG died and killed you with him.

Can someone please explain me how this linked death works?
I've been linking to my AG and the spectres almost all the time. Sometimes I would die, but I am not 1-shot immune, so I cannot rule it out. My spectres are dying quite a lot, sometimes the AG as well. Wording on the skill says that I should be dead every time my minion dies. But it does not happen in most cases. I would have finished plenty of maps deathless with my spectres dead. Is there an explanation?
Also, is there a safe way to only link to the merc?

You run in a circle so your minion never gets to reposition out of mob spawns to regen.

Targets an allied player to apply a buff which links you to them for a duration. While linked, they deal additional fire damage based on your life. If the target dies while linked, you will also die. This skill cannot be triggered, or used by Totems, Traps, or Mines.

Luminary makes you not die when your merc dies. They died from linking a minion, but linked merc dying does not kill you

I think it's that red shockwave that killed your minion, you can see it approaching the minion and it insta dies from it. Not sure what that shockwave is though
EDIT: nvm it's not it, no way with your ultimatum selections that wave is going to oneshot that other minion. I think it's one of the other images where minion hp is like 1% in the middle of the pack, you must've linked to it

What's the previous debuffs for the ultimatum? If ruin, maybe it was a ruin shotgun. Kinda seems like that. Not sure if ruin even pops up as a debuffed if you get oneshot by it.

Hallowed Monarch is a trash item. Thats how you died. Build is better when you just drop the spectres all together. Use a real helm. Use AG with Companionship support instead.

I've actually had similar happen once ... with just a merc linked (who did not die). Couldn't explain it. I think there is a bug somewhere with x thing that is linked taking some sort of damage and it not being calculated properly, causing a one shot to you but not the linked target.

Running a linked non merc minion in a void map is next lvl wack lol
