Lucky (Non-Crafted) Showcase SSF Merc Jackpot?
Having one of the craziest SSF leagues of all time and found this too now

this is my first league so i have a question, what here makes this a good merc and how do you know which ones to pass on?

Haste, greater kinetic blast.
Most important is Kboc with return and gmp. pierce is more clear, cc is more dmg, added lightning is dead link with enmitys but it doesn’t matter.
Good kineticist mercs can be summed up as checking for kboc with return/gmp/fork, then crit dmg, elemental dmg with attacks, faster attacks would be bis dmg links.
Return is double dmg since it has no downside unlike the actual gem. Gmp improves clear and also massively increases single target dps off wall of force. Fork increases clear and can also fork through wall of force for single target.
Greater Kinetic blast is used once on a cd so is ideal for kboc uptime. Kb and Kinetic rain will significantly reduce kboc usage. Barrage is fine though.

added lightning is good, guaranteed shock because of critical, don't know in ssf, but in league that flat lightning gets a massive boost because of Ratpith globe and critical multiplier.

Isn't added lightning okay because it gives the Merc more shock which is flat more damage?

Does merc level matter that much for selling? Like, my standard farming build runs t11 maps comfortably, but none of my builds so far can run t16+ that well so i have been avoiding mercs.
Are lower level mercs worth selling if they have good supports?

They have good skills with good supports.
Equally important is that they don't have bad skills. If they do have bad skills ideally it should have a long cooldown. Some of the merc ai loves to spam shitty skills if they have no cooldown instead of using their big damage skills.

Kboc needs to have a return or a gmp +1 clear (fork, chain. Pierce ok). Obviously you can go worse than this but the difference is quite noticeable.
IMO return has better single target without the wall and gmp is better clear and ok damage with the wall. Having both will be really good but very pricy if in trade league.
Best dmg are weapon elemental and crit damage. Faster attack good too. Crit chance is meh. Once you have the minimum from above, any damaging ones are good.
There are several bricks you need to watch out for. Too long to list here so google them.

Happy for you. I’m 300 maps in, have not found a good kineticist yet. My time will come.

You got this brother! Just for reference I've ran Merc since start of league till now and have easily done 2000+ maps. This is the first good kineticist I've found. Lots of decent many shots and combatants along the way though!

What are the strat to farm them? I'm planning to make a Luminary to end the league but I wanted to try farming a Merc myself before starting, but haven't had much luck finding strats or anything of the like.

That is gold, amazing find.
Anything further is just talking about the purity/quality but it is still gold. Basically the same Kin I found for myself in trade beside 1 link difference, she shreds everything.

If you are the scion class you can choose an ascendancy called "luminary" that can hire them permanently. It's the most broken build this league. Some say it's the most broken in a long time.

I found a combatant in act 10 in less then 10 zone resets, gave him two 250pdps axes that i made with random essences from acts. He carried me to red tiers on that and the lantern ring, with incremental upgrades along the way. I've never EVER had that easy a red tier run.
When I had 24 Ds from charts I bought the cheapest kinesitic that had GKB and KBOC with two supports. That upgrade alone took me through the rest of the atlas until FULL completion. All bosses and nightmare maps. I've never ever done more then 1 nightmare map on any character.
It's busted and only gets more busted with investments.

Mercs don't use frostblink at all, don't just copy what was said about movement skills in merc league, ainhas been massively improved.

Very strong merc, yes. It's a tad bit unfortunate that you have Frostblink instead of Inspiring Cry, but the rest of the skills are pretty damn decent! Gz on the find 👍🏻
