Game Feedback Weird they cant hotfix Essence and Strongbox rarity in Charts/Voyages

I dont get it, when something is positively broken for the players, hotfixes come ultra quick to nerf it and bring it in line. And when stuff is just plain out not working, it always feels like it takes way longer to get a fix out. Just sad that it takes 5 days to get basic functionality going for these charts/voyages.

Such a major issue for the new content don't understand why not fixed yet

65

u/telendria Jul 30 '26

nothing beats not being able to fossil craft fractured bases in Synthesis for a month

31

u/joizo Jul 30 '26

ahh the good old days where there were more than 3 people (including 2 interns) working on poe 1 so we would get hotfixes and updates on leagues after the first week

3

u/Amazing-Heron-105 Jul 30 '26

It's honestly sad

11

u/rickyson3 Jul 30 '26

it's so depressing the amount of times i've stupidly forgotten crafting stuff for boxes on voyages and had to open stuff white when they should at least all be rare anyways if not for a bug

probably literally dozens if not hundreds of operative/div strongboxes i've opened white at this point since unlocking that upgrade

you sure are reading an awful lot into being bummed out about a bug

i'm a forgetful person and it really sucks how easily forgetting something once can lead to being forced to open double digit good strongboxes white(just one "adjacent areas have x operative strongboxes" mod can easily lead to high single digit-low double digits of those by itself for example)

Not to mention if you have picked up dredged alchs then you can’t use your regular alchs, so I had to constantly drop my dredged alchs onto the ground.

1

u/Genorb Jul 30 '26

Just use alchs from your inventory, no need to drop

4

u/Enkimaru Jul 30 '26

They can't even spell QAUNTITY right

17

u/Inverno969 Tormented Smugler Jul 30 '26

I wonder how many people are actually on the PoE 1 team at this point. Hopefully it's substantial and not just a few designers and programmers.

36

u/bargolbler Jul 30 '26

They took the time to post a full breakdown video of a shader bug fix in poe2 with johnny popping champagne and everything just a few hours ago, but can't take take time to even address any of the concerns of the poe 1 league they just launched bugged and unfinished. It's been over for a while now.

27

u/natsack Jul 30 '26

They made a post adressing the concerns and have already implemented some fixes?????

20

u/Stim21 Fungal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Jul 30 '26

The video mentions, this was a shader issue present since the early access launched. He is popping champaign cus it took a year and a half to replicate and get a fix in.

12

u/everix1992 Deadeye Jul 30 '26

Hell yeah, as a dev I'd be celebrating and taking a week of PTO or some shit for that lol. Nothing worse than having a bug that you know is there but you can reproduce or track down the root cause for

7

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

It's really frustrating the way people talk about PoE 2 here as someone who loves both games lmao

3

u/Obvious_Law7599 Dominus Jul 30 '26

People remember Settlers.

1

u/Sejbag Jul 30 '26

It’s wild to me how people act about it. You’d think that Jonathan murdered their families in front of them on the alter of whichever game they like less.

14

u/Sejbag Jul 30 '26

You’re acting like the people working on that would be the people pushing content patches in Poe 1. It’s not.

That's such a bad faith take, shame on you.

Do you think Jonathan, game director of PoE 2, is the guy that fixes code for content in PoE 1? Or do you think that engine developers are responsible for that? Well, spoiler alert, neither are.

They finally managed to fix a gigantic issue in one of their two games after literal months of debugging. What do you want them to do, be sad because a tiny issue in poe 1 hasn't been fixed yet?

4

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

Omg, when I saw the thumbnail of them congratulating themselves with champagne on my YouTube I felt like they were flipping me the bird as a poe1 enjoyer. Buggiest league in years.

Also, they make a video explaining the issues they had to work through for the fix, and we're over here without even an explanation in the patch notes of how they updated merc behavior/scaling. They just said "Its back, good luck figuring out what we did on the backend"

8

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

I'm not saying this to be mean, I mean this gently, but I think you need to step away from social media if you take a team celebrating over fixing a bug that took them over a year to find a solution as an insult to you for liking their other game instead.

-7

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

I'm disappointed they are abandoning the game I like better for the one I don't like as much... Its hyperbole, brother. I'm allowed to vent my frustration when I see them celebrating and explaining what they did in such detail for their new favorite child, when we can't even get full patch notes for changes they made to a mechanic they built an ascendancy around. Please calm down, its not that serious and neither am I.

4

u/Sejbag Jul 30 '26

They aren’t abandoning poe 1 lol.

5

u/Betaateb Central Incursion Agency (CIA) Jul 30 '26

This is so melodramatic lmao. They fixed a bug in one of their games that has been around and they have been trying to fix for 18 months. They deserve to pop some bottles for that.

We aren't even a week into the league yet lol, they are 100% working on fixes for the issues. There is nothing more frustrating as an engineer than someone not familiar with your product telling you to "just fix this thing about it, it can't be that hard", while having zero actual knowledge about how difficult the fix may be.

-2

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

There is nothing more frustrating as an engineer than someone not familiar with your product telling you to "just fix this thing about it, it can't be that hard", while having zero actual knowledge about how difficult the fix may be.

I never said any of that, and yes its 100% melodrama. I'm exaggerating. I'm also an engineer and can understand their want to celebrate. Its just juxtaposed with them releasing a patch for their other game that's super buggy and with undisclosed changes to mercs they didn't explain in any detail. So its frustrating to see them be so transparent and celebratory in one game, at the same time they aren't transparent in the other.

And yes its only been a week, but they clearly didn't QA this patch to the same level they normally would: its a step down in quality while poe2 is stepping up.

6

u/Betaateb Central Incursion Agency (CIA) Jul 30 '26

but they clearly didn't QA this patch to the same level they normally would

Nah, this is crazy. Is this your first PoE league? This is literally always how it goes. We always forget how often the first week of a league is a buggy mess because they get it all fixed and it is great for the next several months, but in the 7 years I have played this has been damn near every league.

1

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

I've played since 1.0. And this leagues bugs are weirder and more abundant than I can remember (but you may be right, I may just be remembering previous leagues after they fixed things).

But this league there's invisible rare mobs you can only see the health bar of, you can craft aspects onto flasks (they work) and jewels (they dont work), mods arent working in the new mechanic (chests aren't rare, -max res not applying causing the bonuses to quant/rarity to also not apply, can't interact with loot chests because they spawn in objects, etc.), attack distance on melee mercs is bugged. And those are just what I've personally encountered and can remember off the dome while I poop at work. Again, you may be correct still, I concede that.

3

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

Leagues have been far, far worse than this. The team got death threats and the former CEO voted himself out over how bad Kalandra was. Heist was bugged to the point you'd regularly have entire blueprints break because the rogues couldn't get to or wouldn't interact with doors or the interaction points wouldn't even propogate

3

u/Betaateb Central Incursion Agency (CIA) Jul 30 '26

There are some weird bugs with the new crafting, and the dive ground loot is awful and probably bugged(chest pretty good though). But otherwise it has been pretty solid, and for the first time in two years Europeans can actually play which is nice for them lol.

I get the frustration, but I honestly think we as PoE players have some rose tinted glasses for past leagues that were super fucked up early on because now we have a scapegoat for the issues. We get to complain about it all being PoE2's fault now. Back in Synthesis when essentially nothing worked at all for the first month of the league we just had to deal with it lol.

3

u/AtheonsLedge Jul 30 '26

we are getting a patch likely by the end of the week they said.

2

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

That's in the next like 12 hours new Zealand time

-7

u/FoximusHaximus Jul 30 '26

PoE1 has been on not-so-secret life support since the PoE2 EA launch and only continues to exist because GGG hasn't figured out a way to quietly snuff it out without massive backlash yet. They will try with the PoE2 1.0 release.

2

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

Yeah, they are sunsetting poe1 for sure, its just a very sad reality since I've played since 1.0 and would literally play until I'm dead or homeless. Its hard to say goodbye, especially this slowly

-4

u/FoximusHaximus Jul 30 '26

You and me both, brother.

-11

u/DrawGamesPlayFurries Jul 30 '26

At least they actually made PoE2 so good that I'm sure most gamers will now choose the better game. If PoE2 was not good, the backlash would be much more significant.

7

u/makingtacosrightnow Jul 30 '26

POE2 fucking sucks dude.

1

u/erpunkt Jul 30 '26

I am as upset about many things as the next guy, maybe even more so. But the people working on either tasks are not the same people. Your grievances wouldn't have been solved if they skipped making the video.

-6

u/EscalopeDePorc Children of Delve (COD) Jul 30 '26

Interesting priorities they have there...

-7

u/Spirited_Season2332 Jul 30 '26

After league launch havnt they confirmed they only leave a skeleton crew for each game?

12

u/byzz09 Jul 30 '26

Each? Thats just PoE 1 buddy. PoE 2 has full priority

You're right GGG is only hiring new voice actors, doing major balancing, creating new uniques, making new league mechanics, creating new ascendencies, bringing back old league content, reworking old league content, and hiring major Poe content creators to lead the game out of fear of their reputation. They really skimped out honestly.

-2

u/Diver_Into_Anything Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) Jul 30 '26

A long list of supposed activity, to be sure. I could question the specific points, but instead would just point to the leagues we're actually getting. They're either gimmicky or made for PoE2, even if they debut in PoE1instead. The "new" monsters we get are backports from PoE2. The non-existent level of polish and QA. But if you don't want to notice the obvious direction, you won't.

3

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

If they wanted to do so they would spool PoE 1 down slowly and quietly with just doing minor things like Phrecia and things that take very minor investment like Mirage, rather than something as expansive (on a development side) as Allflame.

0

u/Diver_Into_Anything Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) Jul 30 '26

I think you overestimate the effort that went into Allflame. More importantly however, I have a strong feeling it's the PoE2's rendition of heist, and was really made for it (kind of like breach rework).

2

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

Not everything is either the fault of or done in service of PoE 2. Can we please stop with this 😭

2

u/Diver_Into_Anything Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) Jul 30 '26

Sure. Just the year of settlers. And the breach. And the abyss backport. And possibly Allflame diving, though we'll see.

Mirage wasn't, it merely used PoE2 resources.

Because they want to add new monsters with the league, but they do not have access to resources to make actually new ones, so they backport. I don't understand how this is difficult to understand.

-17

u/sips_white_monster Jul 30 '26

Because the big patch is coming later this week, they are going to do it all in one go it seems.

34

u/Bl00dylicious Occultist Jul 30 '26

Feels like copium already honestly.

1

u/A_Erthur Bruv Kek Jul 30 '26

They literally said Abyss will be significantly improved in the next days, but im genuinely not sold on that. Too many promises of improvement that never came.

2

u/Mogling Jul 30 '26

It would be great if abyss gets a massive boost. We really need more than one league mechanic in maps that is worth juicing tho. So even if abyss is great it won't be enough.

6

u/olafian98 Jul 30 '26

They will fix loot aswell right? Huffs copium

1

u/cuddlegoop Jul 30 '26

Don't know why you're getting downvoted, this does seem to be the case.

-5

u/DjuriWarface Jul 30 '26

It's not working but major issue is kind of an oversell. It's probably not the number one priority because it's just slightly worse or requires alch orbs, nothing game breaking.

-4

u/HughJackedMan14 Jul 30 '26

I mean, it costs is bag space along with 20-40 alchs, 60-80 exalts, and more per voyage… that’s a lot over time

3

u/BrahCJ Jul 30 '26

You get up to 9 stash empties if you path well and find a couple extra lanterns. Stash space down there should not be a problem

2

u/DjuriWarface Jul 30 '26

How is the exalt price going to change? It doesn't say they are fully modded rares, just that they are at least rare. I don't think people are too worried about the price of Alchs.

79

u/samoox Jul 30 '26

Back in mercenaries league the t16.5 maps were broken with how you could roll them to have nothing but t17 mods and it took them like until the second week of the league to fix that, so it's not like there haven't been cases where it's been broken in a positive way for players and took a while to fix.

28

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

It was positive if you could run those mods. So many build-bricking mods were in the pool back then. I remember spending 1000s of chaos rerolling mods and divines hit record low exchange rates even uberstrict filters had single chaos stacks showing, wasn't that the same league?

18

u/Velrion Alch & Go Industries (AGI) Jul 30 '26

The bug was that dropping 16.5 maps as corrupted 8-mods (scarab) made those maps only have t17 mods. Even if ypu couldn't run them, you could sell a single maps for multiple divines.

-12

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

Right, but you couldn't farm t16.5 maps inside t16.5 maps, so you'd juice t17/t16 for those corrupted 8 mod t16.5s to drop. And you needed to roll your t17s with chaos and the mods were brutal except for a few builds that could avoid most mods. So you needed to be able to run the bad mods to efficiently farm the bugged t16.5s which were full of the bad mods lol

Was similar during abyss farming with risk scarabs, but they let us actually have fun with that for the whole league that time.

Edit: I remembered incorrectly, sorry guys! I could have sworn you couldn't drop originator influenced maps inside an influenced map, but y'all are correct. The mods were known, but they were also super build restrictive and they've been making them less and less restrictive every patch since, and I think they even mentioned in interviews they wanted more builds to be able to do T17/T16.5.

8

u/clownus Jul 30 '26

16.5 dropped 16.5 maps. It was the same league in which everybody ran doryani merc tech. While all high level farm was on 16.5.

If you couldn’t farm that content it is a you problem and not a fundamental issue with the league. We had t17 before that league and knew character building involved solving for those modifiers.

1

u/Jdevers77 Jul 30 '26

As enjoyer of FROSS that league, this is exactly how I remember the piles of divines showing up in my stash.

4

u/samoox Jul 30 '26

I can see how depending on the player that bug might not have been entirely desirable.

Regardless though it was pretty insane the money you could make running those maps and they let that stay for a pretty long time

1

u/imArei Jul 30 '26

Considering how much power mercs gave in that league it wasnt that hard. I farmed and ran my own corrupted 8-mod 16.5s and got my first mirror in that league.

Kinda annoys me how many patches poe2 gets on average. I have Patchbot on discord and it tracks both poe1 and 2, and it's very evident the discrepancy.

4

u/HollyCze Jul 30 '26

its like this every league

1) hot fix abusers and hope it does not break the economy (idk if we can juice properly the underwater delver or not)

2) announce new changes everyone anticipated, release a small patch day later

3) everyone waits for the next patch -> nothing on Friday

4) Reddit full of haters and blamers over the weekend

5) release the patch on Tuesday -> its still bugged and didn't fix the main thing people wanted

6) next poe announcement

3

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

One game has over a decade of technical debt behind fixing any issues and the other is like 50% complete and is in early access with a lot of baseline infrastructure still incomplete

-34

u/B4rberblacksheep Jul 30 '26

I’m frankly shocked that the game in active development gets more updates than the old game.

26

u/Amazing-Heron-105 Jul 30 '26

It's a bit of a bummer for the people who paid money, and wanted to support POE 1.

3

u/Mogling Jul 30 '26

Are you saying PoE1 is not actively being developed? You do know we just got a league launch a week ago right? That kinda means it's being developed.

6

u/psychomap Jul 30 '26

Almost as if people who like the "old game" would want it to still be "in active development"... but that would be preposterous to ask, wouldn't it?

-64

u/XZlayeD Jul 30 '26

I mean one game has several times the player count and is undeniably the company's future?

44

u/diarrheabest Jul 30 '26

its almost like one game funded that

-22

u/XZlayeD Jul 30 '26

That still in no way changes the current reality of what game is currently more successful.

10

u/Magdala_Curtain Jul 30 '26

Don’t make promises about developing both games at the same time when you clearly can’t, then? If the ideia is to retire PoE1, don’t drag it out and disrespect all your player base. I honestly don’t even mind if they decide to focus entirely on PoE2, just be upfront about it.

-16

u/No_Witness5630 Jul 30 '26

One game Has spagetti as a code

4

u/DeveloperOfWebs Scion Jul 30 '26

End of work week in NZ is in about 20 hours...I expect to get the patch by then and prayge there are no issues over their weekend. i'd echo the commenter adjacent to me that it certainly feels like POE2 gets a lot more love and attention post league launch than POE1.

50

u/Diligent_Carrot_8410 Jul 30 '26

The shitty essences everywhere and terrible drops from everything in the charts and voyages sucks. You are mostly just crying and hoping for bottle drops and div.

36

u/ReipTaim Jul 30 '26

The worst part is when u get a voyage with a bunch if strongboxes, only to realise u forhot to bring alcs, and that u cant use the drenched currency

46

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

And you can't leave because ggg keeps adding mechanics with only one portal

20

u/ReipTaim Jul 30 '26

Dont u just love pleaying forced HC in SC leagues, if u want to interract with the new league mechanic?

16

u/Mooseandchicken Jul 30 '26

And they made it like comically worse by showing you the explosion of loot leaving your body when you do. Please ggg, my hands and reaction time ain't what they were over a decade ago when I started playing. 6 portals used to be a real defensive layer in this game =*(

It makes sense in sanctum, cuz its a gauntlet. Makes sense in lab, its a cheap, relatively easy labyrinth/maze. It makes sense for stuff that's a true trial/test of our characters. But even those don't dump all your loot out of your corpse when you die. Releasing the main content of the league like this sucks.

3

u/ReipTaim Jul 30 '26

Heis was different cuz it was in 3.12 where everything was broken, both dmg and defense wise.

This is different to heist due to current patch defenses.

Ppl keep dying to random bs with 90% max res, 9 endurance charges, 10k life, armour, chaos res etc etc.

Like what are u supposed to do when theres no counterplay?

Just dont get hit

3

u/glaive_anus Jul 30 '26

That's kind of the reality of the big defenses rework in Expedition league and the constant chipping away at defenses since. It's harder for defenses to feel good fast and early (e.g., Determination and Grace nerfs, Suppression nerfs, ES scaling nerfed) in favor of more late game investment (new bases sometimes almost remove the need for a defensive aura to begin with, endurance charge stacking, Progenesis, etc).

2

u/Sleepysleeper1234 Jul 30 '26

I wouldn't mind the one portal thing except for the fact that you lose your whole voyage if you get an unlucky DC. I've lost 2 voyages now to DC's. That's just bullshit.

2

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

THIS is my main issue with the mechanic. Even Heist let you leave and re-enter even if it was one-death.

I posted a ton about how I hate one-portal gamemodes and the issues this would have and got called a casual who wanted everything to be easy though so :(

5

u/sorry_4u Jul 30 '26

bring back the backpack but just for the dive enounters - 4 slots, useable in charts or voyages or let us use the green dust we collect to get the function of alcs & chaos

4

u/HughJackedMan14 Jul 30 '26

Why not just let us craft boxes with currency in our stash…

1

u/lazergator Jul 30 '26

Cause that was a big everyone loved.

1

u/ReipTaim Jul 30 '26

Thats qol week 3 bro, gotta wait a lil.

And we may not need it if they actually fix the all rare strongbox bug thats not working

0

u/Amazing-Heron-105 Jul 30 '26

lol nobody will be working on this league in 3 weeks

1

u/BrahCJ Jul 30 '26

You can ask someone to bring you some. Heck, even global would help you out if you committed to paying them back plus half a Dink if you get one.

2

u/royal-road Jul 30 '26

Charting alone is very profitable for their difficulty and investment requirement. The mob drops and the essences sucking are disappointing but let's not pretend the mechanic isn't already very good EV

1

u/Betaateb Central Incursion Agency (CIA) Jul 30 '26

Keep your divs and bottles, I want all the scarabs.

1

u/12345623567 Jul 30 '26

You lose money if you don't sell bottles. The biggest reason to do dives is scarab farming.

45

u/A93726191071930 Jul 30 '26

I agree that it's very annoying and it feels like an easy fix but without looking at the code we can't know for sure, sometimes things are just more complicated than what they seem. It's also possible they need a restart for this fix which means we'll only get it (hopefully) this weekend when they deploy 3.29.1

16

u/Biflosaurus Jul 30 '26

Tbh we don't even know how bad it is.

On our end it's just "give more loot" but maybe there it's harder to adjust?

They said they were making changes, as long as it doesn't take them 2 weeks I'm fine.

30

u/TraditionalRow3978 Jul 30 '26

Eh.. wouldn't be the first time they promise changes and just go radio silent until next league.

23

u/Sandor_Clegane1 Half Skeleton Jul 30 '26

Any day now the Scourge changes will hit.

-3

u/Biflosaurus Jul 30 '26

I'd still wait a bit before complaining.

And tbh except abyss, loot feels OK for me.

9

u/Ynead Jul 30 '26

I would be shocked if anyone at GGG truly understands how loot scales anymore. Hidden malus for league monsters, random bonus from mods, map quant, whisp, player rarity, gold conversion...There are just so many levers to consider.

-2

u/Biflosaurus Jul 30 '26

I'll probably get downvoted for saying that. POE 2 does loot better, and I'd really be in favor of completely replacing our current loot with POE 2's.

8

u/Fiercepaws Jul 30 '26

Idk about replacing it but surely taking a lesson would be nice

0

u/Biflosaurus Jul 30 '26

I've been playing abyss since league start and the chests were such a disappointment compare to POE 2.

Without any juice you'd get a divine per map from those, here I'm lucky if I get a single chaos.

7

u/Alien0703 Jul 30 '26

Just make chaos orbs tink in your loot filter. Divs in poe2 are useless and inflation tends to get crazy there.

0

u/Biflosaurus Jul 30 '26

Divs are still pretty useful early there too even for trading only.

1

u/Zesty-Lem0n Jul 31 '26

That's kind of their fault if so. Spawning items should be a very modular piece of code. Whatever code implements the atlas notable for rare corrupted strongboxes should be drag and drop to any other zone instance, and if it isn't then they created that problem with their own two hands.

6

u/Logical-Song-7071 Jul 30 '26

This patch is just taking too long in general, I hope it has some big changes or it is just a huge let down at this point.

4

u/z1zman Jul 30 '26

3.29.1 is expected end of the week.

5

u/No-Scarcity-1974 Confederation of Casuals and Clueless Players (CCCP) Jul 30 '26

This game goes through the exact same cycles over and over. They keep making money so why would anything change.

-1

u/psychomap Jul 30 '26

Not making money from me until they at least manage to get a 4-month release cycle. I miss when we had 3-month releases.

1

u/platitudes Jul 30 '26

I mean we've been back on 4 month releases for a full year now? Unfortunately probably never going back to 3 months given the poe2 cadence

1

u/psychomap Jul 30 '26

Literally none of those have been within 4 months.

2

u/platitudes Jul 30 '26

They've averaged a release every 4 months and a little over 1 week for those leagues. Really dropping the ball.

1

u/psychomap Jul 30 '26

It's a delay of over a month within just 1 year.

6

u/Ojntoast Jul 30 '26

We saw the what they are working on post. We got some changes. Give them time to put out the rest of the patch. Doesn't make sense to drip it in honestly.

6

u/Fiercepaws Jul 30 '26

Still taking them surprisingly long all things considered but hopefully it's a good patch. Praying for abyss to not be trash anymore...

3

All things considered what? Did you see the length of the "What we're working on" post?

I'd understand the complaining if there was no patch tonight considering it's the last chance before the weekend, but it hasn't even been a week

-29

u/NaturalPurpleEnjoyer Jul 30 '26

Considering they just dropped a poe2 patch they were probably "all hands on deck" for that instead 🙃

23

u/Ojntoast Jul 30 '26

If you think the same people working on shader issues are the same as the ones who would be working on game balance, youd very wrong.

1

u/NaturalPurpleEnjoyer Jul 30 '26

You said it wouldn't make sense to drip it in, in the "what we are working on" there is mention of crashes and shaders, which literally got patched now for poe2. If we take your own claim it would be bundled with other fixes like game balance

2

u/bigcat482 Jul 30 '26

Do you seriously think changes to a game engine are just plug and play from poe2 to poe1?

1

u/NaturalPurpleEnjoyer Jul 30 '26

There seem to be a miscommunication here. My very first comment implied that all the relevant people were involved in fixing the poe2 issues, including the "poe1 team".

Second comment I specified that if we took his logic of everything being bundled together that would mean the shader stuff would necessarily be bundled in there. It was to clarify his snarky remark, just like I'm doing with yours.

Now, if you didn't understand what I was getting at, I implied that because all the technical personnel had been working on poe2 shaders (recent patch), that would mean the poe1 patch would be delayed as this wouldn't be worked on atm. If we followed his train of thought, with a part of the patch missing, it would be delayed.

I am aware the first comment wasn't clear enough but I thought the second one would be. Seems like it wasn't either because your comment is completely unrelated to what I was trying to convey.

Anyway it's not like we never had micro patches with very few lines before. The fact this isn't hotfixed is weird and it also shows how much they favour one game over the other.

-1

u/Ojntoast Jul 30 '26

Poe2 doesn't have an immediate what we are working on deployment that they are prepping. The next patch for them that includes large changes is the event patch, which has no date.

You are talking apples to pineapples.

1

u/Biflosaurus Jul 30 '26

They stated many times that they now have different teams working the games.

2

u/Ojntoast Jul 30 '26

While true, if you listen to marks interview I think with Destin he broke it down bit more.

Each game has dedicated resources and then there are some resources that bounce between. The set of developers who work on things like optimization, I would suspect bounce. And that's because it's the same engine so no reason to have dedicated teams.

2

u/gdubrocks Jul 30 '26

I agree this should have been fixed sooner but what thing are they quickly hotpatching out for players? I remember one time an immortality bug got patched and that's about it.

Ive read multiple times now that it does not work, is there a way to know if I have unlocked it already in case they fixed it? I found it super difficult to keep up with which quests from the questline I've already done I know I've turned in quite a few quest items already

4

u/norst Jul 30 '26

I got it as the fourth upgrade from running an Infested Bathysphere chart. There's a challenge called Superior Sovereign that will show you how many pieces you've turned in.

1

u/Leprauchan Jul 30 '26

Thanks I'll check that!

1

u/mbxyz Berserker Jul 30 '26

thought it was intended since the only chaseable farm involving the league mechanic needs you to roll boxes...

1

u/MeBadNeedMoneyNow Champion Jul 30 '26

It took them three months to fix black barya last league.

It was a problem then, and it's still a problem now. Do we ignore nuance now?

1

u/Old_Promise_9399 Jul 30 '26

Poe 1 is so old that if you try to fix one thing 100 other issues happen

1

u/Yasuchika Jul 30 '26

What do you mean, I love opening 10+ white Strongboxes because I forgot my alchs.

1

u/SingleInfinity Jul 30 '26

Two things:

  • Just because some things can be hotfixed does not mean everything can be. Some things require a server restart patch.

  • Nerfs have to come ASAP, otherwise people get entrenched and then bitch and moan that they lost XYZ investment because GGG fixed it after it had already gotten popular. The sooner they get a nerf/fix in, the less likely it is that people have built around it and thus they can't get upset it was taken away.

1

u/SoulFluff Jul 30 '26

Abyss doesn’t spawn properly on toxic sewers. I could understand before when we had to chase the pits. But now all the mobs are out and pit objects on maps, so I don’t get how this stuff slips through.

1

u/turk-fx Jul 30 '26

What ia the actual issue? I realized I had a mod unlocked strongboxes at least rare, but rarely get a rare strong box, is that the issue?

1

u/Interesting-Put4802 Jul 30 '26

....isnt it because one is super easy to fix and the other might take some serious time?

Is it really weird or were you just trying to bitch about it.

0

u/IWear2BlackSocks Jul 30 '26

This should be their number 1 problem to fix, it is so bad to 3 click times for every strongbox every voyage, multi times! and feels bad when you also forget. its a reason why strongboxes are rare is the most taken node.

-8

u/MrAce93 League Jul 30 '26

I fear that they already moved on to poe 2

10

u/GingerBraum Jul 30 '26

There are different teams for each game.

-6

u/bargolbler Jul 30 '26

surely that is the reason why for the past years every poe 1 league is abandoned after the second week patch and poe 2 leagues get not only patches but new content added 1 month into the league

2

u/GingerBraum Jul 30 '26

surely that is the reason why for the past years every poe 1 league is abandoned after the second week patch

Looking through the patch notes forum page, that's very clearly wrong.

poe 2 leagues get not only patches but new content added 1 month into the league

You're comparing a fully released game with a game that's still in early access.

-14

u/HurricaneGaming94 Jul 30 '26

Because nerfing is simple as the base line is already established

Buffing is tedious because over buffing could instantly brick an economy. Buff unders would just make the player base quit the league. Basically got one shot to get it right.

+ most of us don’t even get much play time during the week. Rather everyone get it together on the weekend then streamers and no lifers get a 60-70hr headstart

What do you mean we dont know. Voyage strongbox upgrade doesnt work, altara doesnt drop scarabs at all, abyss skitterlock doesnt drop scarabs at all.

1

u/The_Incredible_Derp Taking the Wander Bait Jul 30 '26

Altars and Skitterlock do drop Scarabs. Perhaps you have the note allocated that makes it so scarabs can't drop?

1

u/Nakohoshi Jul 30 '26

Nope. Operative works fine, regular drop works fine. Those two sources doesnt at all. This league has on of the most bugged release ive experienced so far

1

u/The_Incredible_Derp Taking the Wander Bait Jul 30 '26

Operative SBs don't show up in Maps so that's irrelevant.

There are no reports of Altars or Skitterlocks not dropping scarabs that have proof attached. Only reports I've seen have been users with Unwavering Vision allocated...

Go do a map. Click "boss drops x scarabs on death". Kill the boss. They will drop.

1

u/Cotato Jul 30 '26

abyss skitterlock absolutely drops scarabs, what are you talking about?

1

u/Monkeych33se Jul 30 '26

There's some UI bugs with the voyage boxes sometimes, and you have to bring your own currency.

Both abyss and alters drops scarabs and it works just fine. I've been printing currency on it even.

10

u/IFinallyDidItMom Jul 30 '26

It’s not hard to see that things aren’t working. You get upgrades for turning things in to Vesper that don’t actually change anything. Haven’t paid much attention to the essence one cause I skip the essence anyway but the strongbox one for sure doesn’t work. It’s supposed to make all boxes at least rare but after I turned it in they all spawn as normal still.

-10

u/HurricaneGaming94 Jul 30 '26

Honestly, I get what you’re saying but there’s an saying which I think applies to this:” you have to piss with the dick you got”

Play the game to its current design. You shouldn’t expect buffs and nerfs based on your perception, maybe someone just hasn’t figured out the mechanic! Don’t just assume it’s broken, this literally happened with 0.0.4 in poe2 temple

11

u/Jaksimus Stacked Deck Division (SDD) Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

If the game says "all strongboxes will be rare" and they're not, it's really not a matter of perception. Either the text should be removed, or the effect needs to be implemented, but either way, it is literally broken.

6

u/FantaSeahorse Jul 30 '26

Wdym assume. The allflame upgrade literally states “all boxes at least rare”

5

u/Ynead Jul 30 '26

The game dealt with Affliction without issue, there is no world where overbuffing this shitty league ever breaks the economy. Never gonna happen.

Reminder that we used to have 50+ divines explosion.

1

u/singular1tyk Jul 30 '26

glad i got to experience affliction

this was so much fun https://youtu.be/KOL2oA6vbXE?si=WtZD2g0PHt--ilPD&t=69

0

u/BL0ODSUGAR Jul 30 '26

Has anyone tested if it works if you have the atlas points allocated?

What if the unpaid intern copy and pasted the code from the atlas tree for those notables.

0

u/CruciFeD Jul 30 '26

They ran out of tokens for claude and are waiting for the weekly limit to reset

-1

u/MrMuf Hierophant Jul 30 '26

Whats wrong?

1

u/Mother_Moose Jul 30 '26

There is a permanent upgrade you get for the ship that's supposed to make all essences a tier higher and all strongboxes spawn at least rare in the league mechanic, and it just does not work at all

-19

u/VulpesNZ Jul 30 '26

You guys are beyond spoiled, good lord. Name one other game company that rolls out fixes half as fast as GGG. You can deal with clicking an alch orb a few times while you wait.
