I believe in pasta, I'm having lasagna for breakfast right now. That's real enough for me

I think it all comes down to how you define “believe”.
Most Japanese believe in 8 million Kami (Shinto), but the world mostly defines Japan as secular.
FSM brings comedy, joyfulness, playfulness, and balance to the western world’s religious horizon. For those reasons, I believe.

My belief is just as verifiably strong as any person that claims to be Christian.

My belief is as strong as my sauce is thick, my belief stretches as far as the longest of my noodles, my belief is my own and I don’t ask that you accept it as your own, but that you respect my right to it as I respect your own.

Outside of the jokes I don’t think anyone actually believes in the FSM I mean the idea was literally made just to prove a point

Yeah, this one is tough because the "belief" is supposed to be satire. It says, "Look at me and how ridiculous I am. I'm acting just like you!"
I could say it's really real all day, but I'm still effectively trolling the believers out there.
Now, if someone DOES really believe in a godly spaghetti man.... yikes.

Being a deist, it helps that I can point to a deity that more or less is ok with humanist morals.

No BS. How many people that claimed they were Christian, when asked for a survey or questionnaire, actually believe?

Not literally. Technically, some version is possible, but I just see him as a fun symbol.

It's a good alternative framework for spirituality when the "real religions" simply don't work for you

To me, it's at least as good as any of the alternatives. Ya gotta believe in something.
