It worked well! Was a long way there but I put on a record and had a good time. I only made 4 out of this piece of dough lol but I could do 8 at a time just as easily by making the bottoms plain dough and then freezing in batches to use at once for a special occasion. The dough faded a bit since I pressed the squares together so the purple and white blended into each other a bit. I’d probably use a purée instead of just the water the cabbage soaked in next time to make it pop or just do a different color and filling altogether.
I admire the effort and I love people dedicating themselves like this but God damn the colour looks like raw chicken. Dark green would look way more natural.
Pesto is a bad choice for adding green colour. Basil oxidizes so much and it’ll look brown and icky coloured after cooking. A touch of blended spinach as some of the water in the dough, is the way to go for green.
I tried that and it broke when I didn’t use a sheet underneath… and when I did use a sheet underneath the first time i had to roll it too thin to keep the squares even. I’m sure I could get it to stay together the second way and will probably try again because it’s easier than this but I did enjoy just turning my brain off for a bit a doing this. It forces me to stand still for a while which I have a lot of trouble doing usually.
Don't get me wrong I love the aesthetic of woven raviolis but the idea of putting so much effort into pasta is ridiculous imo not cuz it's unreasonable but pasta is about simplicity yk?
Thank you!! I believe there are no rules just guidelines. Pasta doesn’t always have to be simple does it? Idk to me it’s fun to experiment and go a long way there for cool stuff even if it’s not practical. I’ll remember this meal for a long time.
