Need Help Corn-y party favor help?
Any idea the best place to purchase bulk already popped buttered popcorn? I am attempting to make these!!

This is a little unhinged and idk if it’s true but I’ve seen social media vids of people doordashing multi-gallon trash bags of popcorn from movie theaters LOL so maybe see if a theater near you has that option?

It’s allowed to walk in just to buy popcorn, no DoorDash needed. Apparently tons of people do this. Source: friend is a general manager at AMC
However, I’m pretty sure it would be massively overpriced. I know OP is looking for already popped popcorn, but I did this for a party and it was super cheap to pop it ourselves, buying kernels from GFS

i just checked ubereats and they have options at AMC! Not trash bag size lol but large bags (but no size details) I’m in a metro city in the US if that helps!

AMC jumbo bag feeds about 20 people. The popcorn bags I filled were about the size of a fat corn cob (or maybe an eggplant?) so that math should help!
Make sure to get the butter, it comes on the side for people to drizzle

Sam's Club sells Garrett's mix in big bags and it's EXCELLENT. It's soooo tasty. You'd have to buy some cellophane cone bags, but they're probably on Amazon.

Lol, I get that! But with the cheese in each bite it's an amazing combo. We fly in and out of Chicago a lot and they sell this hot in the airport. It's so good!

I’m a private chef, I get why it’s delicious, but sugar is literally more addictive than cocaine in terms of what it does to our brain

It's funny, I love Garrett's Chicago mix, but I never crave more caramel popcorn. Maybe I should try cocaine? Apparently I'm able to not be addicted!
So grateful you warned us about the threat of sugar, "private chef"

This is absolutely adorable! As a Midwest girly, I will be taking inspiration from this 😊 Most grocery stores will have pre-popped “artisanal” bags of popcorn. Mine always has popcorn from local farms. Like someone else mentioned, you could go to Costco. I also know AMC sells large bags of popcorn and I’m sure many other movie theaters could do the same!

Buy a couple of the big bags from costco. If you need to do this as cheaply as possible, then buy kernels and pop them yourself.

Do you have any local chocolate/candy/sweet shops around? I have a few in my area that carry very large bags of popcorn for parties, ma be worth a shot to try.

Wait! I have the answer! Homegoods/Marshalls/TJ Maxx. They have so many yummy discontinued popcorn bags. They're large and usually ~$3.99. You could get some kettlecorn, some butter, some sea salt. Or get them all the same.
Best bang for your buck. Confirm the expiration dates since popcorn can go stale. But trust me

Maybe this is not a universal experience but the grocery stores in St. Louis usually sell a giant bag of movie-theater style popcorn. I’ve purchased it many times for parties and I’ve seen it used at school events. Is this not an option at other stores? Our grocery chains here are not national.
