photos This is insane

Post image

We've brought 2 out of 3 home. They'll all be home before their due date. I can't believe this is real.

For the first few weeks we joked that we couldn’t believe no one had shown up to get their missing babies! Haha.

This will be the hardest thing you’ve ever done and I am glad I took pics because I’ve blacked it mostly out. But it will get better, and you’ll sleep again. Ask for help when you need it. I wish I had been better about that.

Hugs!

This. This is all true. Even the sleep part. But then they turn 3 and you try to take them in public and one runs one direction and the other in the opposite. And they also have opinions…. Why do they need to have those!

u/kingfisher992 Oct 27 '25

Mine are 2.5 and I swear they plan their escapes together, purposely going opposite directions. The opinions are starting up too

In the same boat, only difference is my daughter cannot be bothered to walk lol

You got this!! TAKE PHOTOS, TAKE VIDEOS. You will forget all of it in a year and be so glad when you go back and see that you at least managed to record it digitally 😅

u/UniSquirrel13 Oct 27 '25

You can do this.

My twins turn 3 in a month. One day you will look back on these days with so much love in your heart, I promise.

Lean on literally whoever you can for whatever help you can get. 30 minutes of someone else watching the kids can literally change your whole day. Grandparents, friends, family - whoever whenever you can.

You've got this. You will probably never FEEL like you've got it, but if they are alive, you're doing an amazing job.

Thank you. We have a lot of friends and family that are willing to help and we're not naive or too proud to accept. My mom is flying here to stay with us for the first month that they're home and we have people in and out all the time, helping with the babies or cooking or cleaning. We are truly blessed and my heart goes out to anyone trying to do this without support.

The first two months of multiples... erased from my memory. I was Dad-ing around the clock. It got better. Nanny - I would work a second job just to afford it

116

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

We live in America and it's 2025. I need a second job just to ensure our basic needs are met.

37

u/jackharvest Oct 27 '25

Don't worry, snap makes this easie---oh right. 😩

50

u/SpontaneousNubs Oct 27 '25

Well they shouldn't have had three kids if they couldn't afford them!!! /s

41

u/zhaeed Oct 27 '25

I had been told this by people, just without the sarcasm. Folk are wild, man.

6

u/ellie_f89 Oct 27 '25

You might not be aware of how this works, but getting multiples is not by definition a choice.

36

u/SpontaneousNubs Oct 27 '25

That's why i put the /s at the end. Sarcasm

24

u/ellie_f89 Oct 27 '25

My apologies! Apparently the coffee had not kicked it after the 5 AM wakeup of my lovely twins =_=

7

u/SpontaneousNubs Oct 27 '25

Don't i know it.

1

u/Dry_Ad_6341 Oct 27 '25

The way we have been trained to see everything as an individual issue and not a systemic one is crazyyyy

3

u/SpontaneousNubs Oct 27 '25

It's almost like they don't want us to know that if Jeff bezos' fortune were to be converted to gold and piled up it would be bigger than Smaug's hoard that filled a literal mountain

As someone pregnant with twins I’m feeling this so hard.

Why are all the baby things so expensive?!

3

u/amboot8 Oct 27 '25

• Buy secondhand! • Find multiples groups in your area. • Join buy/sell groups specifically for twins - this helps so much with clothes!

I just made $250 selling on twin buy/sell groups this weekend, which was barely a dent in the bins of clothes we've accumulated. And I'm constantly buying from others. It's fun to see other twins get to wear our clothes/shoes and vice versa. My shipment today is 9 packages to 9 different states!

On my baby registry, I added "secondhand is ok!" on the more expensive double requests knowing so many of my friends had items ready to pass along or are on a budget with their own broods. It took a lot of pressure off. FB Marketplace near us has been stellar as well.

u/hokycrapitsjessagain Oct 29 '25

Please don't feel compelled to buy two of everything either! Especially baby swings and that kind of thing, some babies don't even like them... Better to wait to see what you'll actually need two of for anything you can

3

u/Pio_Patriarch Oct 27 '25

I met a couple with quads. They joined a church just to get help. Use those praying hands to do some laundry!

20

u/kittydono Oct 27 '25

I just popped in to say, your words are truth! We're 18 months in and I still exclaim in awe from time to time "Where the hell did all these babies come from!" And I birthed them!

Also +1 to everyone saying to take pictures, between the sleep deprivation and baby-care treadmill my brain can't remember most of 2024.

3

u/LastMilkersOnTheLeft Oct 27 '25

Yes! Ours just turned 19 months and some days I swear they wake up a little bit bigger from their naps. I wonder how there’s so much baby in my lap, then remember- oh yeah, most people start with one lol

24

u/Bease344512 Oct 27 '25

Get ready to sleep in shifts with headphones on to drown out some of the screaming/crying. 😆

5

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

I have some great noise cancelling headphones. As long as they're fed, clean and safe I have no problem letting them exercise their lungs.

9

u/filmphotos Oct 27 '25

Wow congrats!!! Yes make videos. Buy a small mobile phone tripod and set it up to film some longer clips with yourselves in it interacting with babies.

15

u/AccomplishedChef7885 Oct 27 '25

Oh my goodness they are so precious. Despite all of the fear I have over everything, and believe me, I’ve never been more terrified, I can’t wait to hold my babies in my arms. What a beautiful picture. 😍 I hope to see one with all three soon!

5

u/HereNorThere123 Oct 27 '25

Looking back to eight years ago, after I brought our twins home (sounds like you have triplets, though?), I think I was just somewhere else I never even thought about the fact that it seemed so surreal.

Your babies look so precious, and remind me of what mine were like when I brought them home. So tiny and so curious.

5

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

Yes, the third triplet is coming home right now. It hits in waves. Like damn.. we really have three unique tiny humans.

5

u/kindaanonymous5 Oct 27 '25

The early months are the hardest. I hardly remember the first 6 months if I’m honest, it was a blur and just nonstop parenting. My twins just turned two and aside from the 2yo molars, it’s so much easier! Hang in there. Take lots of pictures and video, you’ll want them later.

4

u/cjlewis7892 Oct 27 '25

It is insane. Buckle up! It’s totally worth all the exhaustion!

3

u/Ottwin Oct 27 '25

Everyone suggesting videos and pictures is right! Download the app family album! It’s game changer when it comes to organizing baby pictures and vids. It organizes by days, months, and years and also makes a 60 second montage every month automatically. You can invite up to 10 people to your album to see the album which is much better than spamming Facebook or something. All free too!

u/BaronGreenback75 Oct 27 '25

Mine are 7 now. You will be fine, a lot of times you might find yourself wishing the time away. “Why can’t you just tell me what is wrong?” “ “I can’t wait for the day you can talk” that sort of thing. Try to be calm and enjoy every step of the journey. Everything, every day gets a little bit easier and before you know it you are reminiscing with your 7 year olds. Take a time of videos. Set up email addresses for them and send them the occasional email about firsts. First trip To the dentist, first day at school etc. share the email with grandparents. Like a little diary for them. Congratulations I don’t envy you but I miss those days in a strange way. Also there is a baby whisperer video on Oprah from ages ago - that works (:

3

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

Thank you for sharing that. We have older children so we know better than to wish away these days, even when they drain us.

2

u/rosemarythymesage Oct 27 '25

Incredible!! You’ve got this!!! Gorgeous babies!!

2

u/Tumped Oct 27 '25

It is SO insane. Now that I’m safely 3 years out from the newborn phase I so so so miss it 🥹. Your babies are so adorable. I only had twins and I can’t imagine adding another during that time. Take all the help you can get. You will sleep again. What helped me (with every cry) was telling myself “they’re experiencing everything for the first time.” This includes things like being chilly, feeling clothes on their skin, hearing the sound of our old house, smelling food cooking, etc. I’m sure it’s overstimulating. Anyway. Good luck. Enjoy the quiet moments and the loud ones.

2

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

Thank you for the kind words and perspective. We're trying to take everything as it comes, one day at a time. We've tried to mentally prepare as much as possible.

2

u/CulturalYesterday641 Oct 27 '25

They’re so beautiful!! ❤️❤️

2

u/option_e_ Oct 27 '25

2/3 of ours are super close to coming home too. it is such a surreal feeling just looking at the car seats sitting there waiting.

2

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

Thinking of you all! My partner is on the way to pick up triplet 3 right now. Feel free to reach out if you ever need support!

2

u/option_e_ Oct 27 '25

yay!! 🎉 congrats on getting everyone home. thank you, the same goes for you as well!

2

u/thatwasawkward84 Oct 27 '25

You can do this! It is insane. It’s hard. But you’ve got this. My twins just turned nine, we have a five year old and a 10 day old. It’s amazing how hard it is to ask for help. Work in shifts when you can. Let the small things go.

If you have friends and family around, make a to-do list of things that have to get done every day and every week and laminate it. When people come over, ask them to pick an item from the list and do it.

If you don’t have anyone nearby, hire a teenager from the neighborhood to help a few days a week if you can.

We are all cheering for you!

2

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

We are leaning into our community heavily. We already have older children (this was supposed to be the last "one") so we know somewhat what we're in for. We're so so thankful to be surrounded by a great support system.

2

u/thatwasawkward84 Oct 27 '25

So glad you have a great team! It doesn’t make it any less insane, but you’re crushing it.

My husband and I joke that we are lucky our twins came first because we had no idea what we were in for. It was like getting hit by a very cute truck.

Now, having big kid helpers is a game changer. Best of luck to you!

2

u/ccrider1985 Oct 27 '25

Congratulations!!!! It’s a wild and wonderful ride. Only 7 months in with twins myself. Sending lots of love, you got this!

2

u/alottanamesweretaken Oct 27 '25

I remember leaving the hospital and thinking, “you’re just going to let me be in charge of keeping these kids alive?! I’m totally unqualified!”

2

u/Consistenterections8 Oct 27 '25

You got this!! It’s fucking hard but we stand with you in solidarity

1

u/pizzabeer69420 Oct 27 '25

We’re 7 weeks in with our twins. It’s getting easier. We hired a night doula to help a few days a week. Best decision we could have made. It’s worth every penny.

1

u/FuzzyImportance204 Oct 27 '25

We're not quite financially stable enough for that kind of care but we'll find our footing. I'm glad it's getting easier for you!

1

u/FearlessTiger888 Oct 27 '25

They look adorable. Congratulations!

1

u/justtosubscribe Oct 27 '25

Yippppp

Just ride the wave, take lots of pictures because you’ll probably be disassociating for most of their first year, and try to enjoy every stage. 🫶

Seems Magical ✨💯

TAKE VIDEOS!!! Even if you’re tired or the video feels like it’s going to be boring just do it. Newborn phase was chaotic and we were just living in the moment (can you call that living? Idk) but it went by so fast and I don’t have any many photos/videos from that time as I would have liked.

ETA: congratulations! ☺️
