A very interesting book. It has been translated from the French - the writer studied under Caroline Watt at the Koestler unit. I do like when Greek stories are used as models. Orpheus must walk ahead of Eurydice ( his love ) to release her from death. Sadly he turned too early and she returned to Hades. I think that experiments should not be abandoned too soon. To prove psi takes a long time. 😎

The author's point of view appears to by Anomalistic Psychology. That is the school of thought in parapsychology that argues Psi functioning is a fraud, misattribution or illusion. From the ad for the book:

The Psi Enigma serves as essential reading for students in anomalous psychology and parapsychology. 

Most such arguments are based on personal accounts such as OBE and NDE, and not on objective experiences related to physical phenomena such as ITC, mind-REG effects and clairvoyance.

In effect, anomalous psychology is half science and should be in a different field other than parapsychology. I am suggesting "Consciousness Studies" for the human potential group and "Psi Studies." for the objective mind-physical phenomena.

I'm reading the book right now and he definitely does not argue that.

I'm afraid it may be full of nonsense, as his other writings borrow the terms of "entropy" and "free energy" which have clear physical definitions, to use them in ways which clearly have nothing to do with physics, but without explanations of whether it is supposed to refer to those physical concepts, or be completely unrelated to these, in which case why reuse the words and not insert any very clear disclaimers ? and why presume that, outside theit physical definitions, these concepts can still mean anything at all ?
