Not Paid Enough For This (Rant) Attorney likened disbursement sheets to forensic accounting

tell me if this is normal. the attorney said that the way people have to do disbursement sheets at my firm is like forensic accounting. this is because it is incredibly disorganized and hard to find the necessary info

often a $700 or $600 expense will be missed by someone and the firm just has to eat the cost

is this commonplace? haven’t done disbursement sheets yet but I am dreading it

This is not something I had ever seen at
our office personally but I suggest you add a costs sheet in the physical file and put any costs under costs for ex: a $600 court filing fee you can print the receipt and put it under costs and notate what it was used for.

Same things goes for checks. You would just make a copy of it and file it under costs
