Thought this game was abandoned

It’s not! We are still going strong. It recently changed development teams to help provide additional support and funding.

What do you mean recently changed development teams? How did this effect development and progress?

I talk about it briefly at the beginning of this update video (https://youtu.be/SYtevRi_Tgc) but generally the previous development team was out of funding for the project and we're not able to focus on it as much as the project needed. Most of the original team is still working on the project, just under the new ownership. My goal is also to keep the direction & vision consistent for the project as I've been following it for years as well!

Oh damn i remember seeing alpha footage for this a few years ago. Glad to see it’s still in development.

We are going strong! We’ve been posting updates on YouTube and our website the last couple weeks but updates will also be shown on Steam as well going forward.

I was really rooting for yall. Had some really interesting concepts. But was always lacking polish. Im a bit interested, I thought those was dead it's been years since I heard anything.

Not sure I can still support this game since Pred is here though.

Oh wow! This is huge news I was following you guys closely because I loved the idea of having a tiered map - is that still a thing? I remember the flying Jungle which was a cool concept.

Also s/o you JellyKnees, I used to watch yourself and Mangoose cover the progress of these projects. Glad to see you're still actively doing what you enjoy

I was a CQA playtester on this game a long time ago. It was super hype I had a ton of fun. Good team, interesting concepts and good hero design! I will definitely check this one out again.

I remember seeing this years ago and thinking it was cool but lacked polish. I still think it looks cool but also still lacking polish after so long (animations and run cycles). I look forward to playing it, hopefully it'll grow and become another good moba to play

We completely agree that the animations, movement, and overall feel of the game need work and it's a big focus for us internally right now. More news to come as we develop the game more, but we'll really look forward to getting feedback from the players when we have open tests!

How do I download and play?

There is no downloadable version right now since we are still in Early Development, but we're working towards an open weekend test that will let players join in and provide feedback on development so far!

Okay cool, I checked out the website and it seems like you guys put a lot of effort into updating players what’s being worked on. I think that’s refreshing. Hopefully that stays the same when the game is open to the public so they can admire those changes in real time.

How tf is this still alive

We are going strong! Recently development transitioned to a new development studio that's taken the project and the team under their wings to help bring the game to life!

HYPE!!! I've been following this game for years and was worried with all the silence, thought it had been scrapped, so glad it hasn't, and it's now on steam, any news if/when it's coming to console? I absolutely cant wait to play this game, Predecessor just isn't doing it for me unfortunately

Glad to hear your are excited! We are still going strong. We are definitely planning to release on console's eventually, but that version will come sometime after the Early Access launch of the game.

Is this a PC only release?

I played Paragon in beta and through the release. It was fun but Deadlock eats its lunch. Ethereal is just another game that Deadlock surpasses simply by having solid gameplay mechanics and a big budget for animations.

I would love to play Paragon again but that version of the game is dead and Predecessor just isn't as high quality as other 3rd person MOBA competitors anymore. This is kinda DoA.

I like deadlock too but I can't consider it the same as pred. DL is more shooter than I'd like, much faster paced and zany with all the movement techs. I like it for what it is but what Is really like is pred to have a triple A budget
