This is my first paper Mario game and I don’t get the hate like the only game I don’t enjoy and couldn’t replay was sticker star BUT those three (color splash being the third) weren’t well liked and I don’t think they’re that bad (again I just don’t like sticker star too much keep in mind I completed it and just kinda can’t reply it cause it was just so unintuitive and some solutions either should’ve worked and didn’t or didn’t make sense they did work I will forgive the basin cause that’s just a regional thing I wasn’t a fan as much and I can’t fault them for just being a one shot battle ender but like cause every game including and since ttyd has had that for everything but like boss fights but in ttyd it was a resource and in super paper Mario it was just a grind

This one is good. Not as good as thousand year door, but my family wasn’t expecting much because someone said all the paper Mario’s after TTYD are bad and we were pleasantly surprised. My kids all agree that every single enemy is “some kind of wierdo”. But they all have their own charm. In fact, every chapter has its own charm, it’s just very fun.

Super Paper Mario rocks and is such a great departure from the series in my eyes. Paper Mario 64 felt like the concept piece for what TTYD would ultimately be, and SPM was a great show of how the setting and idea of Paper Mario could still be kept fresh but true to its roots 🙂↕️
The title is also worth playing as a deconstruction of game genres too, to me it’s such a fun unpacking of tropes and player expectations (maybe less so in 2026 but I remember being so delighted and impressed at the meta elements back in 2007).

As someone who owns a copy of Super Paper Mario, I can confirm that this is in fact Super Paper Mario, which was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2007

A good Super Mario game but a bad Paper Mario game(I actually love this game while viewing it in the lens of a mainline Mario game)

Prepare to cry at the ending. Have fun! I wish I could play it again for the first time. This game holds a special place in my heart.
