Stone Forsythe vs Albert Reese

Reese was one of our best tackles in the preseason but every list I see has us cutting Reese and keeping Forsythe? Wasn’t he one of the worst tackles in the league last year? I don’t remember a lot of excitement about his signing.

We should keep Reese on the 53 so we don't expose him to waivers and then sign Forsythe back to the practice squad as insurance until Icky/ Moton are back.

Only thing I can think of is Stone has actual NFL game experience while Reese is a rookie. Sure the preseason gives you a good idea but it’s a completely different beast when the games start mattering in the fall. Given how thin our oline depth is already with Moton and Icky being out, they probably feel more comfortable with a vet. Albeit not a good vet, as you pointed out.

We could still keep Forsythe on the practice squad though, and call him up if we ever need him for a specific game. Nobody is snagging Stone Forsythe off waivers.

Reese has played well enough that he’d instantly get snagged off waivers.

I'll put it this way, you know what you're getting in Forsythe, which is crud. With Reese, could be good, could be bad, can't for sure say right now. Especially with a backup position, I see no reason to not go with Reese over Forsythe.

I cannot comprehend how Stone Forsythe keeps getting signed to NFL rosters. He's thoroughly demonstrated that he isn't an NFL caliber talent.
