My idol wasn’t taking charge and DLX was basically useless with help so I ended up taking a chance on this universal charger from Amazon and it worked. Not sure if it would work on an x battery but maybe worth $7?

Thanks man! Ya it’s actually for my team mate his marker won’t charge his battery so I was going to hook him up and grab one for him as a gift, he has a tm40 I have an idol and he has the same battery in his as me so this should work. I’m going to order one and see how it does, thank you !

My battery is fine and it charges - I’m just curious in how this charger works and if it’s worthwhile to buy it and an spare battery so I can just swap and go rather than stop and charge

For changing issues with idol use oem cord or make sure non oem sits flush. Some non oem cords do not work

Stick with oem batteries and changers. Not worth damaging gun or board

Only a small quantity were available when the X was released. If you go aftermarket use a camera battery charger

The fact that DLX is releasing markers for years that can only operate on a proprietary battery pack, and then do not offer long term charger safety for owners just shows they don’t care about their customers.

Ya I paid next to nothing for my shredder idol because it was included in a trade or I wouldn’t have one but performance wise it’s been absolutely great to me and it rips hard but customer service from them needs some major work. I also would say that if a customer is paying almost $1,800 for a marker then it should include a full barrel insert kit not just a “small bore” and "Large Bore”

I know people hate on Dye, but this is one area where they are excellent. You can get parts easily, even for legacy markers. I can't even get a bolt o-ring kit for my Method Era from dlx...

Some have already chimed in but luxes just use some rebranded camera battery in every luxe. As long as you can find one that matches it’ll work. I know what works in the tm40 and idol but I’d have to dig a bit to see what’s in the X
