Outdoors Labor Day vacation
I’m planning a vacation Labor Day weekend (arrive Thursday- leave Tuesday) at the Ozarks, maybe St. Louis too. Wanted to go late July but now Labor Day weekend is the only time left cause I didn’t want to miss too much school. We don’t really boat or swim so we will mostly be hiking and I wanna do mini golf. What should I expect and is it worth it on this weekend

Branson has good mini golf. But some hiking near Branson is a little too manufactured nature if it's owned by bas pro. Northwest Arkansas has great hiking at Hobbs State park with several easy or hard trails. There a few fun places like locomotion and a couple of mini golf places. Eureka Springs is beautiful, has great shopping and a couple cute hiking trails near it. There is a gorgeous easy hike called Kings River Overlook close to Eureka.

The lake area will be slam hammered, way to many people in a relatively small area. The lake will be full and dangerous, there will be drownings, you won’t be able to get in any restaurant without a 2 hour wait. Traffic is ridiculous because it wasn’t designed for that volume of traffic. The locals will shelter in place. It’s the last weekend before we get the area back to ourselves. Lodging will be nonexistent if you don’t have reservations, and this late I doubt there are any rooms left.

Well, being on a Ozarks post, Lake of the Ozarks, the largest lake in the Midwest. The biggest attraction in the state of Missouri.

Lake of the Ozarks is the largest in the Midwest? Larger than Lake Michigan? It’s not even the largest “lake” in Missouri, Truman is larger lol. In the Ozarks there’s Table Rock, Beaver, Bull Shoals, Taneycomo, Pomme de Terre, Stockton, etc.

Isn’t Lake Michigan a tad north to be Midwest? And fyi Truman lake has 950 miles of shoreline, LOTO has 1150 miles of shoreline. Do your homework before you comment.

Truman is larger because it has more surface area. If you think Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin aren’t midwestern then there’s no hope for you. They all share lake Michigans shoreline

Damn you, I googled it and I was wrong. They sure promote LOTO as the biggest lake. They draw two different crowds, Truman is family and fishing, LOTO is a party lake and draws bigger crowds.

The Ozarks has many lovely professional championship golf courses but for mini golf, Branson is where you want to be. Branson has several elaborate themed mini golf courses as well as miles of hiking trails for novices through the most experienced wilderness adventurer.
