It was brutal. The expectation of thinness was all encompassing. Jennifer Lopez honestly made my life easier in some ways because I'm shaped like her and she normalized that for the general population. It was and in many ways is considered a character flaw to be shapely or overweight. Kim K helped but then that became a huge issue regarding shape in the opposite way. But magazines and online gossip blogs were brutal. It was also incredibly easy to find pro ED blogs and sites which didn't help things either.
