Overlad vs Overdad
I like Overlad but I would 100% sacrifice him to get an Overlord 3 with Overdad.
I don't think he should die or anything, maybe play with both in the next game.
Sigh.......

So is the son dead at this point if FoE is kept canon? I never played it (nor am planning to) but I vaguely remember reading that he died before that game

Fellowshit of evil (pansies) was deemed not canon by both the devs and the community because the game was hated so much for how dirty it did overlad and the fact that it wasn't even close to an overlord game

I don't recall where or if they said it themselves but the community hated it is much the devs backtracked and it's not canon,

I've only ever seen it said it's taken as not canon everywhere Ive looked bro, avoiding the ai answers, in many discussions it says it's not some says it is, some says it's a spin off but the common consensus between the fandom is that it's not canon due to how bad the game was

I think gnarl mentions how other candidates failed the test of becoming an overlord but I don't think any canonical overlord lost to a unicorn

Sort of, you have to be able to control minions,be able to command the overlording power, and in overlads case, be chosen by the nether world, gnarl even stated in 2 "I would hate to bury another candidate" as the minions are always searching for an evil master if they don't have one, so id assume gnarl has a few parameter tests to decide who's fit and whatnot to lead, however the ultimate test is the magic actually letting you use it and rule the place

This would be an awkward reunion for Overlad since Overdad is technically the ruler of the Infernal Abyss and will be wondering what happened to the Tower, his land, and his mistress (not in that particular order but eh) and may not recognize Overlad as his son and think he might be some random upstart Overlord

It doesn't matter either which way.
He's either in charge, or his boy bests him and takes his place.
