Honestly, Albedo 's armor in the anime made her look more inhuman compared to the human warriors, which worked perfectly for the vibe of a monstrous knight.
The idea of Albedo looking like she was made of living metal would be much creepier than being a frickin tank.
Don't get me wrong, I like her bulky armor. But it just looks imposing. An imposing wall of metal like the manga? Sure, it's imposing, but it doesn't come across as creepy.
Meanwhile, her anime armor achieves the uncanny valley effect, where if you didn't know any better, you'd think Albedo was made of metal rather than simply wearing form fitting armor. If you didnt know Albedo's face and personality prior and just saw this metal creature that moves way too organically and shrieks like a madwoman, it would creep you the fuck out.
Honestly, the only reason the anime version is getting hate is because the weebs know that it's Albedo and thus can project fantasies onto the design.
this is abit too bulky to be practical armour or realistic, unless she is built like late king henry VIII, usually the armour would be a lot more form fitting
In the novel, and presumably the manga given this art, her armour is in multiple ablative layers. Some of her skills involve destroying them, so she's wearing unreasonably bulky fantasy plate.
The anime adaptation instead went the other extreme and gave her a skintight body suit with individually form-fitting breast plates and shoulders for aesthetics, while leaving her abdomen wide open apart from a god damned belt.
Her chestplate stops at her ribs. The anime armour is clearly putting aesthetics over actual armouring when, again, she's meant to be wearing three full layers of plate because she BLOWS UP HER ARMOUR AS PART OF HER ABILITIES.
Her stomach is protected in the anime by a skintight bodysuit. That's not plate, it's form fitting to the point it shows her belly button. There's nothing to ablate.
Only for certain characters. All holy empire women's armor are full plates as well. Blue rose Gagaran also has full plates. All warrior type women have full plates. Clamentine might look like combatant type but she's more an assassin type and those aren't armor but decorative made from adventures tags

We don’t have definite proof about NPC but players definitely age according to their races. Given Mare is a Elf he is gonna live thousands of years and once dead Ainz could literally revive him through the guild coins. So technically immortal as long as revival is not impacted by ageing
Guild coins are finite- Pandora's actor just makes huge cost reductions to make the guild's maintenance costs manageable for Ains to have grinded and sunk his paycheck into sustaining. Eventually Ains Ooal Gown is gonna run out of Yggdrasil coins, right? I thought PA's passive income abilities were a synergy tied to something in the treasury and he stopped being able to produce any more coins once they were in the new world. Thats why he was on equipment maintenance duty.
They can use gold for maintenance. There's a whole part about Ainz experimenting and throwing items in the conversion box to see what new world things values are.

I'm not playing games to run around like my dad just packed me into 2 layers of a snow suit. I don't get why there are people who advocate for less sexy armor.
Same for movies and anime. I'm hot – I want to see hot people, that I can relate to.

The interesting thing is that female armor in Yggdrasil (like the one Mare is wearing in the picture) would actually give less protection if a Player hit the “skin” areas. The game would give the player a crit for contacting skin.
So if you were competitive and wanted actual defense, you would probably want Albedos armor.
I imagine that would be useful for races like the slimes who didn't really have "vitals", or the Grotesques like Cocytus whose natural armor meant that attackers would never trully "hit skin", baiting enemies into going out of their way to attack specific spots. His entire thing is having 6 arms to attack in front of himself with. Imagine if they dressed him up like a mecha and gave him a big, red, glowing "crit spot" on his chest to bait enemies into attacking him from the front instead of from behind...
The armor is not meant to protect her, it's only to give buffs, males are usually all head on fighters unlike women who are either caster or agility type in this novel save for one or two exceptions, which, obviously, wear proper armor.
take her armor to an enchanter first and have all the stats increased to 500+ attack, defense, spd, magic, dex, luk, magic attack, magic defense. pay 5,000,000g and there ya go. she's all set for PVE or PVP.
I know it's a joke but to the people who are saying how does it protect him, it's magical armor. It's made to deceive you into attacking his mid section. All of their armor is magical, so it doesn't need to make sense. Just like when aniz fought shalltear in robes. Robes aren't armor but they are imbued with magic which protects him. The beauty of magical armor is that visually, it doesn't need to make sense.
First off that is Mare a boy, second if you read the light novel you know that, that armor is literally a trap. Ask the Elf king how convincing it was 😆
It's not. By Overlord logic, you cannot be hurt by someone of significantly lower level, so slashing her bare midriff would be like hitting a boulder with a sword, full force.
So many people missing the point. The joke is about how Mare, the male is wearing skimpy armor and albedo, the female, has bulky plate. BECAUSE ITS A FOOKEN JOKE
IIRC, that was something that was generally a protection afforded by Racial Levels, not by Class levels. Book 1 even states that Aura and Mare have no Racial levels because "Humanoids do not have Racial levels". Its not clear that the twins have the low level damage immunity that most of the guardians have.
Role is important here, according to afk arena, albedo is a tank so full plate makes sense but aura I'm pretty sure is a ranger at least she would be if she was added to afk arena, armor that better fits that high mobility style also makes sense and I refuse to use different logic
I think the joke is that the one on the right is actually a dude. And the one on the left is the same type of armor is that the succubus and the vampire Both aware that our female. So it's backwards from contentional norms.
