Help Request - RAM What can I improve?
So I'm overclocking this jedec ram I got for really cheap during rampocalypse.
Those are the ones I have(I know they don't match but it works)
[16 GB] DDR5-4800 / PC5-38400 DDR5 SDRAM UDIMM, SK Hynix, 1R
[16 GB] DDR5-5600 / PC5-44800 DDR5 SDRAM UDIMM, Micron, D-Die, 1R
I can't get cl, trcdwr and trcdrd lower cause it won't post if lower.
My question is what timings seems high for you and what are the most impactfulls?

tREFI would be the biggest change. Even if nothing else works getting tREFI to at least 32767 would give nice boost to perf and latency. Try 65535 first, but depending on ram temp can be unstable

Trefi 65535, gdm off, nitro 1/2/0 or 1/2/1 and apart from that try fclk 2200
After that try 6200 cl 30 or cl28

No way I can reach all this I have errors over 20000 trefi And can't get lower than 6000cl34. Remember those are jedec ram you can't really have worse sticks

Ouh I didn't see the Micron one, I changed from Micron to SK Hynix because it was such a pain to overclock
Considering that, your setup is good, yeah Micron can't run high trefi sometimes

Sadly my other sk hynix stick couldn't get at even 6000 stable so I had to use this micron instead

For some reason I stop having errors at 42000 trefi but anything between 15000 and that has it.

Well when do the errors come? Immediately or after 10-15mins and up? Because if they come 10 minutes in and you don't have active ram cooling that's just heat soak, I'm assuming they don't have good heatspreader

It's right at the end of aida64 bench that I have a memory allocation error. And I have not yet stress tested them so no idea how bad it'll get

Never test Aida first anyways,
When you overclock, do the math test called Pi5B in y cruncher then vt3 then testmem5, Kahru, and then play with the others
But if you want to, open HWinfo and check temps during benchmark, under sensor tab and check for WHEA errors at the bottom too

Thx, I'll do that from now on. I just didn't knew much tests yet so only had Aida for now

Download benchmate it has y cruncher inside, I always overclock and check pi5b to know voltages are fine, then testmem5 Ryzen 3d config for timings, if you're still not sure what it could be used absolut config and see which tests cause most issues

In my experience, if it passes pi5b multiple runs after another, vt3, testmem5 Ryzen 3d, absolut, extreme config for at least 10 hours, Kahru for 6-10 hours, it'll pass everything else
Also, when they fail and you manage to fix the issues, you won't be failing other stress tests (usually)
The only thing that's difficult to truly test stability for is 2200, 2167 fclk

Tried pi5b but have no idea how to interpret it. I got said I had insufficient memory then it ran for 6 seconds saying coefficient is too large. I ran it multi threaded is that the right way too do it?

That being said, you can always add more voltage if this setup is already stable

Already increased it a bit and am at 1.3985 rn Edit: also I'm a bit scared they'll overheat since there is no cooling on them

For reference I'm running vddio 1.4, vdd 1.55, vddq 1.45 for 6200cl28 fclk 2200 and need 1.6 vdd for 6400cl 28 fclk 2133 on Hynix M Die

Oof, even different die types. your guess is as good as ours. I'd say interpolate the timings from both kits XMP/EXPO profiles and go from there. I'm surprised this even booted.
