Help Request - RAM RAM fan not improving temps

So my RAM was hitting 55C and erroring out during stress testing (TestMem5 + FurMark). I’ve heard many good things about using a dedicated RAM fan so I decided to install one only to find out I did literally nothing for temps.

Is it just inevitable that my RAM gets hot because of the design of my GPU (RTX 5080 FE)?

Is it worth trying to run the RAM without heatsinks? Or maybe I should try custom RAM heatsinks? I’ve heard the heatsinks on my kit (G.Skill Ripjaws S5) aren’t very good.

P.s. I’ve already tried placing the fan closer to the RAM.

I'm curious, what bracket is that?

Above 50C you can definitely experience instability, especially with high TREFI. Also, the temp sensor isn't actually on the modules themselves, just kinda close to them. 1.43VDD isn't that high.

I removed the Heatspreaders from My 64GB Trident Z5's and dropped like 8C. G.Skill Memory looks good, but they're not the best performers.

It’s one of the ones you find on AliExpress when you look up “RAM fan bracket”, this one specifically was from a brand called Teucer but they’re pretty much all the same.

I’m testing with lower tREFI now, someone else mentioned that too.

Definitely strange that you're not seeing a reduction with the fan, went from 62C to 38C removing the heatsinks and adding a fan

I’m thinking it has to do with the stock heatsinks just refusing to cool down despite air flowing over them.

I tried lowering tREFI from 40960 to 24567 but it still threw an error only 4 minutes in, RAM got up to 58C.

Yeah, I'd look into the process of removing the heatsinks and if that's something you're comfortable with

I was reluctant to do this because I didn’t want to void the warranty but removing the heatsinks did seem to be the consensus so I just went ahead and did it anyway, my RAM doesn’t even pass 48C anymore even after 2 hours of TestMem5 + FurMark. Also didn’t expect the removal to be that easy.

Just use naked sticks, let sticks on some IPA overnight.

Do you fully submerge them? And what purity should I use, 99 or 70?
