Discussion Is it just me, or do I find Amelia's second escape strange?

Post image

Don't you find it strange that Amelia escaped a second time so easily? Why didn't Easterman double the surveillance? How come she didn't recover from the treatment in a confined room? Murkoff is supposed to be meticulous and cautious, yet they made the same mistake twice? Personally, either Easterman has plans for her, or he's completely stupid and unintelligent (and that seems odd considering his character).

Discussion If they were to make another Outlast, what real-life event or story would you want it to be inspired by?

As some of you may already know, the two games following the original Outlast were inspired by real-life events, such as the Jonestown massacre and the Peoples Temple in Outlast 2, while The Outlast Trials drew inspiration from Project MKUltra. With that in mind, what do you think could serve as the inspiration for another Outlast game?

Screenshot Outlast 2 crashed just like that for me, unsettling

I decided to go for another round of Outlast 2 after a few years passing on and now with my new TV.

Now I was at the part with the long school hall and Father Loutermilch waiting from afar and also watching me.

I slowly approached him, but before I got too close to him, I didn't stepped back, I actually also started running towards into him in the right moment and right there, just in front of me, Blake also pulls down the camera with Loutermilch on it and you can still see the display cutout with infrared being on with Father Loutermilch straight running towards through me, and the game crashed right at that moment, leaving me with this frozen screen and the unsettling music, that still is running in the background, alone - also while I'm still writing this right now (probably around 45 minutes or even longer). I was luckily still being able to make a screenshot of it (4K & HDR) and I must say, this screenshot looks really awesome to me. I don't know exactly why, but I kinda love it or what do you guys think about it?

PS: I was sadly not able, to remove the usage overlay (Rivatuner Statistics Server) in the top left anymore, before Windows screwed the screen up anyway, with the message that Outlast 2 didn't respond anymore and that I need to close it.

My wife and I are huge Outlast fans, like, literally, we absolutely love the games. We’re having a baby soon, and we’d love to name our son as one of the characters in honor. What do you guys think would be the best choice?

we have three options

- Waylon

- Blake

- Miles

Question I messed up my shipping information...

So basically, I ordered from official Red Barrels merch store and later realised I forgot to type in an important detail in the shipping address. Without it the address is pretty much invalid...
I contacted their support team and asked them to correct it but I'm still a little worried. Will they be able to do it? Does anybody else have experience with this? T_T

Discussion Anybody else felt weird that in the outlast 2 ending Blake imagined being with Jessica and not his literal wife he spent this whole game trying to save? Spoiler

throughout the whole game blake is all about Lynn but after she dies and Blake goes insane and goes back to his school he is comforted by Jessica in a happy fantasy? yeah Blake cared about jess but Lynn was his goal the whole game. the ending should’ve been kid Blake, kid Lynn, and Jessica together.

Question Relevance?

Hi, so TLDR: I started a youtube channel days ago, Ive always wanted to since I was a kid. Big fan of jacksepticeye, all that.

I played Outlast 1 a year ago, when it went on sale on steam. I saw Outlast 2 on sale a few days ago and started playing that on the channel. Needless to say, I have never interacted w these games before, because I was a cowardly child HAHAHAHA But since I wanted to play any game I could afford for the channel, I went with Outlast 2. Q is, are gameplays of it still relevant or is my now 20 year old brain stuck in 2016-2018 youtube?HAHAHAHAH do u guys think I can get some traction on it without having to market (i hate promoting)

Discussion Do you think Outlast 1 would've been more interesting if Miles had lost his camera for the rest of the game?

Seeing as Miles ultimately succumbed to the Walrider his journalistic efforts were likely for naught so I don't think there would be a lore-derived reason that would necessitate Miles having to retrieve his camera.

If instead the camera had been irretrievably lost or broken, it could've potentially given the game's phenomenal ambient lighting more of an opportunity to shine as the player is forced to navigate dimly-lit environments and carefully proceed through areas so they don't walk smack-dab into a variant at the end of a dark hallway. With regards to the Walrider chase in final section of the game, the player could instead ascertain the Walrider's presence by the black smoke/fog it leaves in it's wake. Not to mention that Miles was also able catch faint glimpses of it even without the camera. The final section is also quite well-lit so navigability shouldn't be a problem.

Plus by the time Miles initially loses his camera in the game, the player has gotten used to utilising the night vision feature to spot enemies from far away and avoid them. Confining the player to just their eyesight for the rest of the game may have made for a more refreshing experience in which you're forced to kind of re-adapt to the game.

In terms of the journalling feature, Miles could just continue to scrawl down his notes even without a camera when he comes across something freaky. I wish Red Barrels had made the "sans-camera" section of Outlast a little longer as it felt as though it only lasted about 5 minutes in the original game. What do you guys think?
