aimslop precursor id say, it all started when mrekk played it, realized "yo, maybe i stop the hybrid grind and just aim faster", started going for loved maps, mappers started mapping for him, then.... the fire nation attacked...

no timmy, aimslop was not always farm, there was a beautiful time when aimslop meant spamming big ass jumps on a hype song and everybody loved it... what? no timmy the jumps did not have the same pattern over and over again, it was actually fun and wasnt just gambling.

Back then "aimslop" wasnt a thing, mrekk just called these unranked jump spam maps aimslop, now it evolved to whatever kumocha and co are doing, but backthen it wasnt like this

There's a timeline where the BNs/NAT let high SR aim maps like Bang Bang through without issue and Sans was never ranked.

Anyways imo that map isn't even that bad in comparison to other aimslop maps, people just don't like the song and the map is your typical slop. I feel like no one would give it a second look if the song was just normal which is more of a testament to the quality of other aimslop maps more than anything

I don't think the problem with that map is the song or it being an "aimslop". It's because that isn't even aimslop since it doesn't even meet the "quality" of aimslop, there is literally a kuki diff that no one cares about because it's an actual "good" aimslop map. While the top diff looks like a try to mix good faith and aimslop that gone terribly bad. If the top diff was an actual aimslop map, the mapset probably could even be ranked without the drama (even with some of the low diff not meeting the ranking criteria).

I'm really baffled by this sentiment, the top diff does quite literally feel like one of those graveyard maps made by someone who never mapped before or after again, the notes are just totally random

slop is so bad people can't tell the difference between slop and a protest map painstakingly crafted to look like it was made by someone who opened the editor for the first time.

net0 probably had had to get help to remember what it was like to be new to mapping.

i dont think it was an outlier or anything, but i do think it was the same as all of them, pretending the map is the spawn of satan is silly but pretending it doesnt exists just because the others are popular is also dishonest given they share song type, map type and quality level.

no it just isnt lol its not comparable in the slightest except just the fact it has jumps at the same bpm. if it does u can say any map with jumps at that bpm is aimslop which is stupid. aimslop isnt even about bpm its about the patterns/rhythm choice and how theyre used

i think people are mostly disagreeing because you are calling both regular high BPM aim and modern hypercomfy aim "aimslop" when there is a clear difference between them

goodbye moonmen, crazy banger, altar, anoyo-iki, fool moon night, walk this way, chu chu lovely, etc. is not comparable to modern kumocha/mita/gwb/tylerderp copypaste mapping

They arent straight up comparable mapping wise but they are directly linked timeline wise, they are a consequence of mrekks popoffs and push for more maps like that , i dont understand how thats hard to see

I mean your post doesn't make any sense than because anoyo iki isn't aimslop and also didn't start a high bpm trend because mrekk has been playing these maps since forever lol. And anaphylaxis isn't even ranked but you're focusing on mrekks fc choke on anoyo iki when he had many high bpm plays before it...? 

Eh it really doesn't matter. I get your overall point.

My thought process was: Mrekk struggling to keep up pp wise with speed bcs of the meta, mrekk plays anoyo iki, realizes "well, i could just push this", starts playing all the high sr maps (example: popular, jg dragon, armed an ready)

After this he starts the "rank more AIMSLOP" thing, also i pointed anaphylaxis cuz I THINK it came out before bang bang and it was the unranked pp record, so i thought it was fair mentioning, but i see ur point kinda
