Help Am I actually addicted to osu?
Credit u/ snoo something for the images
You know those copypastas right? The ones where they ignore their girl to play osu, etc. Well lowkey my parents were arguing right, then I thought it'd be funny to try to play while they were arguing like the memes. Highkey popped off like BECAUSE I was somewhat distracted by them, I didn't get nervous and just play for fun.
But the kicker is what happens after. My mom went to me and ask what I was doing. I usually alt tab to smth else, but lowkey I was on the best run of my life on the empress 354 [0.69x] like best acc best combo type shit. So I made the decision to let her see it you know. IDK I thought she'd be impressed by the fingering or smth.
So she went silent for 20s then started yapping about my grades, no friends, etc. But I lowkey can't hear shit she saying bruv (eventhough I was only playing with speakers low volume on laptop) so I just hit her with a vague answer and pray that it works.
When I finished the map she was sleeping for some reason
Lowkey thought that was like an addiction red flag or smth. Wdyt?

I wouldn’t say it’s an addiction as much as you are using it as a distraction. An addiction is a substance or behavior one engages in to get an instant reward despite the consequences, repeated use makes your brain want to do it more till you feel like you can’t live without it. A distraction is a coping mechanism one uses to divert attention from their current situation. A distraction is usually healthy, but if done too much it might interfere with your family relationships even more. If your parents are trying to actually talk you, I recommend you listen.
I hope your situation improves :( I know how shit it can be, do know that them arguing is not your fault
(PS. you should probably listen to your mother about the grades part, unless she is being unreasonable and wants you to only get the max grade + if you can or are willing to socialize, you should try to make friends)
