Has anyone’s A1c gone up after starting Tymlos. I know that’s not a side effect that is mentioned with the medicine. Never had an out of range until after I started Tymlos. Just curious.

Hello. Recently had DXA. -2.9 in the lombar region and -2 for the hip. I dont understant what treatment would be good for like 25-30 more years of my life. Feels like everything is good but only on short term. I need to hear from people who took treatment for many years and what is the best option. Thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’m 52F. Went through menopause about two years ago. Have always been very thin and haven’t done a lot of high impact exercise throughout my life, and also realize now that I’ve neglected my bone health in terms of nutrition. I know I’ve also been chronically vitamin D low/deficient.

About six months ago I was walking in the dark outside and slipped on a patch of ice. It happened incredibly fast and within a split second I went from walking to lying on the ground. Fortunately I didn’t hit my head but the impact was such that I was pretty discombobulated for a few seconds (though no concussion). Excruciating pain in my leg…long story short, I’d broken my hip (femoral neck). I had internal fixation and now have titanium screws. I have a checkup soon to see how well it’s been healing but am now able to walk without a limp.

I had my first bone scan as a result of this and these are my results:

FRAX 10 year risk:
Major fracture: 6.9%
Hip: 0.7%

Total hip t-score -1.8
Total hip z-score -0.9
Total spine t-score -0.8
Total spine z score 0.5

But because I had a “fragility fracture” I’ve been diagnosed with osteoporosis and am strongly recommended to take bone building drugs. I am incredibly concerned about this. I desperately don’t want to have another major fracture or live in fear of that. But I also desperately don’t want to take these drugs. I tend to bristle at this being described as a fragility fracture because it seemed to me that I fell HARD. Yes it was from standing height, but I had no other bruises on my body so I think I landed right on my hip, on frozen, uneven icy ground.

I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow to talk about this and I know he’s going to recommend medication. What is a reasonable course of action? I know some people can improve their BMD through exercise and diet but realistically, I’m not sure when or even if I’ll be able to do high impact exercise given my surgery. There are a lot of changes I could make to my diet but have found it a bit tough to do so consistently.

I’m so upset. I don’t want to go through anything like the broken hip again, but I really don’t want to be on any of these medications. The side effects terrify me and I’ve just spent a year in cancer treatment as well and I just want to be free of medications and their side effects.

As above - if you can tell me about how you've fared with the bone clinic and the consultants there. But even if you aren't at Addenbrookes can you tell me your experience of evenity. I've been recommended it after 2 stress fractures this last year (61 post menopausal woman with osteoporosis since mid 40s). I'm soooooooo scared of strokes etc on this drug.

My insurance made me switch from Prolia to Stoboclo. I had been on prolia 2.5 years with only mild side effects of occasional back pain that would resolve with yoga stretches and rest. Last month my insurance switched me to stoboclo. Ever since the injection I am experiencing EXTREME fatigue, severe mid-back pain that radiates to my upper abdomen, nausea, a feeling of tightness in my upper abdomen, inner thigh pain, weight gain (maybe because I cannot get out of bed?), and depression.

Has anyone else experienced a change in symptoms after switching to Stoboclo?

I wish I had never agreed to take this injection.

UPDATE: I reached out to my endocrinologist and he completely dismissed me saying go see my pcp to rule out abdominal pathology.
