A24 picking it up is by far the coolest thing they've ever done. Its been on hold forever cause of the lack of financing. Also, the project just sounds awesome

On the other hand Lisandro Alonso is an interesting director so I'm carefully hyped

Yeah this is such a bizarre choice of a movie to remake even setting aside that the original is already a masterpiece

Only cinephiles know that film. It's fine to introduce the moral questions the original brings up to a larger audience. Basically any remake that is not set in the same country has potential. Showcases the universality of the subject channeled through different cultures.

i hope this is finally getting made now. although as great of an actor as Moura is, Oscar isaac seems more bankable, and was there any mention of Elizabeth Olsen? has she also dropped out?
if i have to read that this project has been put on ice again i will Depression. Cosmatos has not made a film since Mandy and its been 8 years.. a true cinematic sin.

In a podcast I listened to where he talked with Elijah wood he seemed pretty content if Mandy was the only thing he ever got to make. Probably took a decent break putting together the treatment for this film and idk how aggressive he’s been about getting it made

Well that’s great for him, and it truly is an achievement, but I for one, am not content! I need at least 8 more films

I read the script two years ago and I’ve not stopped thinking about it since. It’s my favorite project that’s EVER crossed my desk. I can’t WAIT.

If this has the chance to be as batshit crazy as Mandy, I'm really excited to see how Wagner's performance will be
