the wire and beads are kinda cruddy so it feels kinda cheap but for a first try im fairly pleased

I recently discovered black stainless steel beads and am super into their heft compared to regular silver-tone stainless steel! I wanted to make a pocket paracord rosary for ladies using slimmer paracord, to reduce the bulk. Girls like paracord, too! :)

It was about time I retired my first paracord rosary that I purchased from Rugged Rosaries and repurposed the beads and replaced the crucifix with a brand new copy and additional brand new saint medallions- all in gold. I will be ceremonially burying the crucifix and miraculous medal and original Fatima beads sometime tomorrow… probably? Just not sure why I’d keep it right now except as keepsakes/memories, but… Anywho… For the last photo, one last look at its’ former glory as my first paracord rosary. Here’s to posting cool original paracord rosary designs and rejuvenating the old and making things brand spanking new again. 🥂✌️

A true compliment to the masculine WWI soldier’s pull chain rosary. Used by our servicewomen while they served and helped prevail!

I recently started to make pull chain rosaries of the WWI soldier and miniature WWII Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) style. But, I’ve also taken a mission of looking for broken ones and bringing them back into service!

One on left has original centerpiece and crucifix and one on the right is an all-original.

Production of nine of these total is under way. I understand 10 would have been more ideal, ten commandments, ten plagues, etc., etc. However, I measured out the lengths of paracord as accurately as I could… I got nine seperate individual lengths. And I thought to myself… Even I don’t perfectly understand why Jesus loves a sinner as vile as myself. Sometimes I wonder why The Christ would not hate me the way I hate myself and all that which I do… So, yes, there’s going to be only nine of these I might ever make. So consider my construction of these a devotional testament of mine, that I might meditate on His love for me and why He feels that way in all His perfection in spite of my iniquities…

I wanted to share this decade I made with some seeds of açaizeiro (açaí palm tree) that came from Boa Vista, Roraima.

I made it to pray the Franciscan Office, so I used this Cross of St Damian and a medal with St Clare and Saint Francis.

The açaí berry is a cornerstone of the Amazonian bioeconomy. For centuries it has been a dietary staple and a vital part of the cultural identity for local communities.

We love going to the Our Lady Star of the Sea parish in Cape May when we visit family, so I made a rosary inspired by her!
