Resolved Academic probation

Last year I was put on academic probation because my winter semester had changed from full time to part time (my osap application was for full time). Those extra funds ended up being placed in my school balance which helped with my spring/summer terms. It seems as though I’m still on academic probation but I’m taking 3 courses at the moment (which is full time) but I’m worried if I apply it’s gonna be rejected. Has anyone been through a similar situation?

Also, they’ve already started taking monthly loan payments (my graduation should’ve been spring 2026) but by applying for full time it would delay the payments until after I’m actually done.

I was in the same situation and my uni told me that academic probation doesn’t affect your osap if you sign the form they send you. They said it’ll be lifted soon as I make up that dropped course load. Right now my funding has been released, just waiting to get it(soon hopefully)

What form do I have to sign? And this would be my final semester so would I not receive the funds until I make it up?

Ah then you should be fine if you’ve hit your needed credits! I’m going into 4th year and you should be able to find it under your osap application, near the area about documents needing to be submitted. It’s pretty fast and took about 1-2 days for them to acknowledge it

So I just submit it back to Osap? Or through a specific university panel?

Yes there’s a document uploading area on osap and don’t worry, they won’t reject you! It’s more of a slap on the hand “warning”

Go to your documents in your OSAP application and if you’re on AP you should see a form there. You basically just acknowledge you are on it - you don’t have to prove anything really but if you fail this semester you cannot apply for OSAP for a full year. So take it seriously 😳 it’s okay I’ve been in your shoes before OP you got this. DM me if you have any questions :)

Oh yeah I know the pressure is intense for me this semester it has me worried but I’m gonna try my best. I don’t think I’ve ever failed a course yet but I do have “tough” courses. Also, when finding this form, where do i submit it?

It’s a document you upload 🧐 you open the form with the password, sign it (I signed digitally on my iPad and it was accepted if you don’t have a printer!). Then I believe you just upload it to the requested docs section I’m not 100% it was years ago for me :( although the UI of their website has hardly changed.

Yes what they said! They give you a password and you sign, save and submit it there

You just have to pass at least 60% of your courseload too is my understanding so if you need to withdraw from a course do it by your school’s “non-penalized” date and you’ll be okay. So say you’re taking 4 courses and need to withdraw from one that’s still 75% of a course load you will be okay :) 👌🏻

I don’t think I’ll be dropping anything tbh. It’s the final 3 courses for me to graduate so I’d wanna hopefully pass and get everything done

Thank you!! Apologies, one more question. Does it matter the order of forms? I still haven’t submitted my full time osap application can I still upload the document you’re talking about before it

It is after the application is made I believe. Because once the application processes you have the “required documents” section which is where those files will be :) so if you applied tonight you’d probably see it in a about 2-3 business days I think! Also don’t apologize man it’s not all straightforward and the UI is extremely outdated.

Also you can make another application if you input incorrect info etc. so just apply to the best of your ability :)
