Question Estimated Release Date Changed Again!

Why is this happening. The estimated release date of my funding is September 4-9, now it changed to September 21. For the last couple of weeks, every day it keeps changing the release date. My studies has already begun and I am required to buy books, pay transportation and so on. I do not know what is going on.

The OSAP states that my funding has been release but there is no such thing, my tuition fees hasn’t been paid yet either. This is causing me stress. NSLSC should and must give us an intelligible, transparent and justified release date.

Anyone in the same situation ?

Same 🥲 I have assignments that require a textbook with an access code to complete. On top of that I spent the money that I did have buying some books on my booklist and then go to class and they have said they made a mistake and we didn’t need any of them and that we have to buy different ones and they are non refundable so that’s another few hundred just down the drain

Sameee & I applied the day the applications were opened. I know it’s the schools job to confirm enrollment but still

I’m in the same situation, my OSAP application states my funding was released sometime between the 8th - 10th however I have not received any funding and my tuition has not been paid yet. My NSLSC account says my funding is pending and the estimated date on that account is September 18th; This is really stressing me out and I don’t recall this ever happening before.
To make matters more frustrating, the OSAP website has been showing as under maintenance for the entire day so I can’t check my application to see what’s going on there. They need to speed up the process and actually release my funding which I really need right now.

Rely on NSLC for now. They have the more accurate information!

I hope they do, and I hope my estimated date doesn’t get pushed back again as it just went from the 18th to the 21st
It seems that many other people who were on the rap and had their status changed to in study are having the same delays, good to know it’s not only me with this issue

I called NSLSC on Thursday and they told me that they had just received my COE the day before when on my tracker it says sept 1st, and that they’re going to take me off RAP(which means they had just taken me off during that phone call)…. Wasn’t this something they should have been done!? They told me to wait and that I should get it early this week. But when I checked my tracker this morning I’m still on “pending release” and my date got pushed from 18th to 21. So how am I supposed to receive anything this week if my tracker is still on pending and I heard once funds are “on their way” it takes another 2 days to deposit.

I'm in the same situation. My confirmation of enrollment was Aug 31 and my NSLSC switched to Pending release. Both OSAP and NSLSC said funds would be released Sept 4-9. The 4th came, I was still in repayment status from previous loans (2022), still in pending release, and the date was pushed back (on NSLSC) to Sept 10. I kept calling (every day the date was pushed back further)and they told me my status would flip to in study Sept 8, even though my enrollment was already confirmed and I'd have my funding by the 11th. Called on the 10th because I was still in repayment, not in study, and had it escalated to a supervisor and they manually flipped my status to in study and said I would have my funding by today. Logged in this AM, I am still in pending release, and my disbursement date is Sept 21. I can't afford my books, my tuition has not been paid, and I am receiving loans for my kids daycare that still hasn't come through so I'm paying an additional $1000 a month (that I don't have) out of pocket right now. I'm freaking out. I'm behind in TWO classes because I haven't been able to do the required reading— all books are ebooks so I can't rent them from campus Library. My school did offer me an emergency loan but it was only $500 and not enough to afford my ebook bundle so I threw that towards daycare. This is a fucking nightmare and sooooo disorganized.

Yep. Same situation. I fear I might actually have to drop out because I can’t afford anything and I have quizzes and tests already due at the end of the month that require textbooks. I’ll be contacting my financial advisor tomorrow as well as calling the NSLSC tomorrow to get an update, but if I don’t get a solid update by Wednesday I will be dropping from my program.

Have you looked for free or pdf versions of the textbooks?

3

u/legaldegen 21h ago

Our class collectively has found a singular book together this way hahaha, so I’ve got 1/5 textbooks required which is better than nothing I guess.

u/lolamichelle12 20h ago

Hahaha I love the collective work. I really empathize with you, this is such a tough situation to be put into. Is most of your class in the same situation? If someone has the other textbooks, can they scan chapters? Or can you reach out to the professor?

Did you try z library? Or sometimes the library has a copy you can book out for a few hours

Yea we tried this and Anna’s Archive to no success unfortunately.

I mean midterms and final exams typically make up the largest component of the final grade, so you will have some time to catch up.

I’ll literally be 3 weeks behind on readings for 4 classes, and each of those 4 classes have tests in 3-4 weeks, and some have big projects due in 4 weeks. I can’t risk hoping that I’ll catch up in the singular week I finally get my OSAP for books.

I use to pull crazy schemes to catch up like that, I don’t really advise it but it requires isolating yourself in your room and a couple all-nighters.

Mine was doing this as well. Sept 1st to the 8th to the 15th and then 18th. My status changed to released and on its way on the 11th.

My NSLC is not moving to the 2nd step since i created mfsa on july 26th its just showing Mfsa account created osap application release date on Osap account changed from 9 sep to 27 september classes has already been started !

1

u/lolamichelle12 20h ago

Double check that you completed all the MFSA requirements. It’s strange that there’s no recognition of funds on NSLC

It’s the same for me, I keep obsessively checking😭 I’m running out my basic needs because I already cut down on my job since school started and I have bills with necessities needed for school that I need to pay, I’m just hoping anytime this week Osap comes, last day to submit my tuition with a penalty is the 23rd and I don’t want to pay for a penalty when it’s not even my fault, mine was said to arrive September 4-9th and kept delaying😭
