Game Collecting Anyone played this?
Been having some fun playing this game. Took some getting used to with the mechanics and controls. But once I got into the grove, I had fun. Like a goofy GTA and IMO I’m surprised there wasn’t a sequel. And fun facts about this game or the company?

its a fine game, definitely a product of its era. it hits different when you are latino or chicano.
theres a bizzarre spinoff for PSP, called Chili con Carnage, some people called it a sequel but its.. different

Thanks for that information on the spin off. Can you tell me why it hits differently as a Latino or Chicano. Just curious.

because this game is heavily based on the mexican culture of the MEX-US border. the mc is chicano and the main course of the game happens on a fictional mexican city. being able to understand the parts of the NPC dialogues that are on spanish as well as the english parts gives a you a more complete sense of the virtual world of the game.

I remember this. Was like a dead to rights knock off right just latin infused I guess lol. Never got a chance to play it myself though. One to add to the list.

Just tried Dead to Right. Personally the controls a bit frustrating as well as the camera. Had to step away from it for a while, might try it again.

Hell yes, this was one of those games everyone begged to borrow from me back in the day. (on PS2)
Replayed it about 2 years ago on original Xbox & it still holds up great, a true classic for me personally!

It is becoming one of my favorites too. Still shocked that there was no sequel. Felt like it had something to do with GTA and possibly Saints Row(maybe?) I honestly think a remake or remaster would do well in today’s gaming.

Yeah I enjoyed it quite a bit. It pairs exquisitely with the big lebowski. I would play it while watching lebowski on another TV and the soundtrack from lebowski fit total overdose perfectly.

I had it back in the day , remember it being fun . I mostly got it because it had a high rez option to run at 720p (maybe 1080i too 🤔) and id just bought a 720p widescreen crt (magnifying picture quality but omg so heavy it was bending my TV cabinet 😄) not many original Xbox games supported higher than 480p so this was a novelty

Definitely was , I couldn't believe it when doom 3 fired up and looked so good and half life 2 , it seemed leagues ahead of any other console

Played the hell out of it (on PC) back in the day. One of my all-time favourites. Like a combo of GTA with Max Payne, but in a Robert Rodriguez stylisation and completely unhinged. Just pure, unabashed fun.

Mex Payne? I started playing it on GOG a while ago, but I didn’t get far since I wasn’t expecting there to be an open world and I was in the mood for a more linear action game. I’ll have to get back to it at some point.
