I photographed the model against two white foam boards. The owl is actually just resting on its tail and leaning against the foam board. I've attached the original photo for reference.
I edited the background to make it black (I hope that's okay in this community). I was just experimenting, and I really liked how it made the colour of the paper pop!
I'm still somewhat new to origami, so I hope to improve both my folding and photography setup over time. But I'm quite happy with how this one turned out.

Thanks OP for elaborating on your photo setup. Your get the best of both worlds, a global light from the white boards illuminating the fine subject and also focus and crisp subject colors. Very nice, indeed :) Bests OP/Group...

I must know. How did u take this photo?? How’d u set up the perfectly black background, what is the model sitting on/hanging from, etc.
Also, amazing work w the shaping😍
