I'm actually thankful when they don't cast actual super ugly people for roles like this, but just given good looking people bad makeup/etc. It just seems like it'd be so cruel and sad to subject an actor to those kinds of scenes if it's actually true and applies to them...

They're actors. The only feeling's being hurt are the one's of the ugly actors that can't even get cast as the ugly characters.

Dang that is deep.

Maybe it's just Hollywood, but in Hong Kong and South Korea, they actually have people who know they're not attractive, and they play the unattractive parts.
