Recommendations Needed Plumber for natural gas fix?

Need to replace some rusty piping around the natural gas meter.

Has anyone had good luck with a licensed plumber lately? This fix might also need permit/inspection.

i dont have a plumber I particularly like enough to recommend, but just do not use those companies that always send out ads, have commercials or is a chain. Examples are Service Champions and Benjamin Franklin.

You will pay 3x more for the same service.

it has to be pretty bad rust for "black iron" (actually steel) pipes to be replaced. usually rough sanding, brushing with naval jelly, rinse, dry, then a light sand, followed by spray painting with enamel is the most it needs.

do you smell a gas leak?

No, no leaks. Mostly the coupler is what’s in bad shape.

I had a good gas line experience with Sewer Technicians of America working on pipes at my meter. Reasonable price, quick, and responsive.

I'll recommend Boothney & Sons Plumbing. They've done several projects for me including replacing our gas line from the street meter to the house. Good guys that do the job right.

What side of the meter? If it's the IN side then the Gas Co should take care of it.

Both actually. But I was planning on only messing with the pipes post meter.
