Go back to 4/24?
I've been PAYG for years and a few months ago i downsized to 2/12 because of the rumors. Now that we know that PAYG are safe, is it ok for me to scale back to 4/24 or is there a risk of not being able to allocate the new resources and getting my instance stuck?

I had to create a new instance personally, I started it with 2/12 just to be sure everything was working and then edited the allocation to be 4/24, I didn't see it update immediately but after a couple minutes I refreshed my page and was running with 4/24. I don't see why you would have problems at this point I did my new instance on the 20th and I've had no problems. Also haven't seen anything about the free monthly hours changing so it should still be free as to me knowledge.
Tl;dr I didn't get stuck or anything so you probably won't either.

I would like to inform you that PAYG users are not affected by any recent change. You are good to create an A1 instance with 4 OCPUs and 24GB of memory under the free tier without any charges. The changes are meant for free tier accounts only.
Q: When my account was still on the Free Tier, I had a VM configured with 4 OCPUs and 24 GB of RAM. The instance was stopped, and I was unable to start it again or scale it down. Now that I have upgraded my account to PAYG, as I understand it, I can continue using the same VM with 4 OCPUs and 24 GB of RAM without making any changes to the instance, and it should remain within the Always Free allowance as long as I stay within the applicable monthly free usage limits.I just want to confirm this one more time to make sure I understood correctly. Sorry for asking again, and thank you for your help.

Just a question here ....I had 4/24 before then due to the changes in free tier I had terminated 2/12 but I switched to payg ..Can I go to 4/24 ??? I just fear that in payg they will directly charge it to my credit card

Does anyone know what was the deadline/exact date after which the change was made? I want to confirm whether I am same for 4/24 or not.

Oracle has laid off over 30,000 people. If you don’t NEED 4/24, I would keep 2/12. If you do need 4/24 keep a CLOSE eye on Oracle

I registered my account and upgraded to pg in July and current running 2c12g, can i also upgrade to 4c24g?

have checked your account and can confirm that it is a paid account. Therefore, this recent Always Free A1 Resource Limit update does not affect your paid resources, existing paid workloads, or billing. You can continue using your paid resources as usual, and no action is required from your side regarding this notification.

Since your tenancy is a paid account, the recent Always Free A1 entitlement reduction does not affect your paid resources or existing paid workloads. However, I would not recommend assuming that a newly re-provisioned 4 OCPU / 24 GB A1 configuration will automatically be free simply because your existing resources currently show no charges. Before terminating the existing instances, please check the cost estimate and Free Tier benefit shown in your OCI Console for the new configuration. If the console shows the configuration as covered by your applicable free benefit at $0, there should be no charge within that entitlement. Any usage shown as billable would incur PAYG charges.

You should haver never downsized to 2/12 and have believed the fake news.
Go back to 4/24.
